Seems to clean well

I miss the timing feature that was on my old brush. That feature would make a sound that told me to move on to the next quadrant. Now I have to watch the clock's second hand to move the brush in 30 second increments. I also find the handle bulky (my hands are small) and that makes brushing in the rear teeth more challenging.
On the positive side, I do like that the brush is stored in the charger. However the charger's LED light is pretty bright and this reflects in the double vanity mirror which them makes for unwanted light in the vanity area at night. No matter which way I turn the charger the mirror picks up and reflects the light.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Is brush doing any good?

I'm not sure that my toothbrush is cleaning between my gums and tooth good enough. Using a manual brush seems to do better.

Replacement Heads

I love this product. It does an amazing job with my teeth. Even my dentist complimented me and saw an improvement on my oral health six months after using the Essence. I have one complaint. Why, in this day and age must the whole top assembly have to be replaced (every three months) and not just the brush bristles? That's a lot of waste and not very good for the environment. It took me a little while to figure out that I couldn't just replace the brush only but the entire top section. What a waste.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Gunk gets under the head and gets gross and smelly - totally disgusting.
LEARN FROM MY MISTAKE AND DO NOT BUY THIS TOOTHBRUSH!
Cons: gets smelly, buildup grows under brushhead, have to clean under brushhead, can you say unsanitary?

Noisy and smells

I had another sonicare toothbrush I LOVED and the replacement heads were discontinued. I replaced it with this brush and I'm disappointed. First, the brush is really loud. So much louder than the previous model. Second the toothbrush smells. Water and yuck leak below the head and it gets gross. I have to remove the head several times a week and rinse it out. Design flaw

Cons: smells, loud

The only good thing about this brush is that my teeth felt really clean.
My love for the brush ended two weeks after purchase, I noticed a smell coming from the toothbrush. I opened it up and I almost got sick because of what I saw. My toothbrush was full of a smelly slimy mold! GROSS! Totally impossible to clean. DO NOT buy this toothbrush. It should be pulled from the market. Wasted my money. Not likely to purchase another Sonicare because I have no idea if they have remedied this problem in other brushes and I don't want to spend more money on a toothbrush that will end up in the garbage after two weeks.
Pros: teeth felt very clean, affordable
Cons: gross mold!!!!!!!!, excessive vibration in support stick
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Weak brushheads, and very expensive to replace

I didn't like the essence model and would not recommend it. It has weak brushheads that don't last long, and very expensive to replace them. I have an Oral B that performs better and it costs much less.
Pros: charge
Cons: brush does not last long, weak cleaning, expensive replacement heads
