I have had this brand toothbrush for years. I guess I thought that they all had the 30 second timer. I was very disappointed when I started using it

I bought this tooth brush to replace one that failed. The old one had a timer so you got 30 sec. in each quadrant but the new one does not and I didn't know it until it was to late. They all need to have that feature for what you pay!

Cons: no timer

I must not have paid attention--should have looked at what info was on the box. The brush head is way too small, and as was pointed out, but I hadn't noticed, there is one mode, or one speed. Not happy with this toothbrush at all.
Cons: small brush head, one speed

Resigned New Sonicare

I have been a Sonicare user for over 20 years. The Sonicare Classic was a beautiful thing. It would have been the Sonicare toothbrush I would be using today if Sonicare continued to make replacement heads for it.
I was resigned to purchase a new Sonicare after realizing the replacements I purchased did not fit the old model. After having a tantrum at the store and kicking the display case, I now have the Essence. It is fine. The brush is not as heavy as the Classic, which I guess is a plus. In addition it does not take as long to recharge the brush as the older one did.
I have not taken this on a trip yet, so I do not have a review of its ability to hold a charge.
I hope this Sonicare will last 20 years as did the Classic. What a pity I had to throw away a working Sonicare because the heads were discontinued. Tragic. I am sure others feel the same.

The front and back side of the handle has a gap that water to get into. We have another Phillips sonicare with a solid handle so that water cannot get into the interior of the handle and affect the battery and inner workings.
Cons: handle not watertight.

I absolutely love this toothbrush! I am OCD when it comes to cleaning my teeth and having pearly white teeth so when I received this as a Christmas present I was very excited. I have bouts of gingivitis and so far my gums have looked better than they ever have. I would recommend this to everyone and I have been telling all of my friends about it. I can see the plaque buildup decrease as the days go by and I am so happy with this tooth brush!

An excellent product that performs as advertised. A word of caution when purchasing: shop around for the best price......I found a 20% difference in price between sites.

I'll keep my Old brand

I got a sonicare essence for Christmas, and was truly disappointed. One brush head, can barely feel any movement at all. Not sure about how it cleans, either. I will keep my old brand ... so much for Sonicare.
Cons: minimal brush movement one small brush head
