This is my second Philips Sonicare and I was thrilled that I was able to find this model since I had 2 brush heads that fit it. My other brush gave up after almost twelve years of use, so I am very pleased with the performance of my Philips products.

I am disappointed with this product. Thought it had the pulsor to gauge how long you brush each quadrant of your mouth. Instructions indicates leaving the brush head on the base between brushings but this doesn't allow for air circulation after cleansing of the head. If you don't check the brush head between brushings the debri builds and is unsanitary, it needs cleaning after every brushing or bacteria will be growing.
Pros: seems to clean my teeth
Cons: find the handle kind of clumsy
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I had the "Elite" which is also a Sonicare for many years. When it finally "died" I replaced it with this one. The main difference between this one and the "Elite" is that this one doesn't do a quick beep between each of the four quadrants of your mouth. Also, this one you have to shut off yourself rather than it shutting off automatically after two minutes. Extra cost is built into the "Elite". I feel I made a good choice in purchasing this one. Sonicares definitely help with plaque, etc. My dental hygienist loves it that I use a Sonicare.

This unit is functionally as good as my previous unit. As stated in other reviews, it is missing the 30 second timer to alert me when to brush another quadant. I'm sure I can accomodate this issue. Overall, it is a great product.
