No better brush for oral care, but battery life shortcomings need to be addressed

I love Sonicare (as does my wife, my dentist, and dental hygienist); however, the battery life (or ability to replace without repurchasing an entire new unit) is an ongoing issue.
I now have four (yes, four!) handles that I need to return to a recycling center (as they can't be simply discarded as normal trash). After two or three years, the unit begins to fail/hold a charge/reach full power.
For the season it works, it's a fabulous tool; but it seems to fail pretty consistently (too much like planned obseletion)... especially given it's significant price tag.
Pros: no better brush for oral care
Cons: relatively short battery life, unable to replace battery

I have used Sonicare for over fifteen years and very satisfied with the outcome. I don't brush for the full two minuets as recommended. It workes great on both teeth and gums! Good product!
Pros: first one lasted a long time
Cons: replacement brush heads are fairly high priced.

This is our 6th Sonicare and we love the brand and the toothbrushes we've purchased. I was told that this model had the 30-second beep within the 2-minute timer but, at least, the toothbrush we were sent, does not have this feature.
Customer service at Phillips is excellent and we are trading this toothbrush for one with on feature described above. I can't say enough about the wonderful customer care.
Pros: great customer support, wonderful product overall
Cons: lacks the timer i wanted

I had used E series Sonic tooth bruch in the past but like this one better. It is lighter, a bit smaller and the head is angled making it easier to reach those hard to get to spots Has same cleaning power and I love it.
Pros: all the features i expect from sonic care
Cons: none
