need to buy more!!

I bought and looking at the photos you would think you get the whole strainer - BUT NO!! you don't! You need to buy additional items that KitchenAid doesn't tell you, so when you try to assemble the strainer to make marinara sauce from all the tomatoes from your garden it won't work!
What a rip-off - sell the ENTIRE strainer in one shot.

Incompatible Product!

Received my purchase 2 weeks ago and found it to be INCOMPATIBLE with my preowned KITCHENAID MEAT GRINDER. I suppose it would've made too much sense to list in bold that it was not compatible with all of their meat grinder products?!?! Now the product is of no use to me and their page tells me I cannot return it. Very sad day as I own a lot of KitchenAid products and it looks as though I may need to rethink making any future purchases :( Very disappointed in this company!!

Poor quality; breaks easily

I have processed less than 20 pounds of tomatoes and 12 pounds of apples and the strainer has broken - it separated along the seam. I also had the same issue as many in that i did not realize that you had to buy so many separate parts to get this system to work

Picture is misleading.

Misleading picture. It does not come with the grinder part at the top where the berries are pictured. I can't even purchase that piece because I don't know what it's called. KitchenAid has become a a company with no integrity. Very disappointed.

Read product manual before purchasing!

Bought this product, was disappointed to learn that one needs another product (the food grinder) for this to work. I was about to purchase the meat grinder but then took a trip down the reviews and realized this thing wouldn't make it 2 days with our usage (extracting beets and semi firm fruits. Quite often you see customers who misused a product but the sheer number of photos showing the broken cone point to a poorly engineered product rather than misuse. Returning immediately to spare myself the agony of the back and forth.

I bout the fruit and vegetable strains and the large food tray. Neither of them come with the middle attachment that you you need to make it work.

Essentially for my summer garden vege processing.

I couldn't process gallons of garden sauce each summer without this attachment. It handles whatever mix comes in from the garden, tomatoes, peppers and tomatillos, either slow roasted or in the case of tomatoes, quickly blanched drained and strained. It can be messy. A plastic cereal storage container is just the right height to fit under the spout and catch the sauce as it comes out.

This fruit and vegetable strain is missing the part that actually attaches to the mixer and is basically useless.
