Don't waste your $

Horrible. It clogs way too fast and the grinder that it mates with leaks. What a waste of $. I had to purchase the new model grinder just to use it. Tomato juice all over my kitchen! Had to unclog it multiple times and seeds, skins and core ended up in my sauce because of the clog cleaning, so completely defeated the purpose.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

KitchenAid could do a lot better

Very little instructions, it doesn’t tell you that you need another attachment. I have the fruit and meat grinder attachment that is needed, but that doesn’t even fit. I don’t know if it’s because the grinder is older, (but less than 10 years old). I had to go online to find instructions. I think KitchenAid could do a lot better. I am very frustrated and extremely disappointed.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Love my mixer and attachments.

I absolutely love my stand mixer! I have the meat grinding attachment, the vegetable and fruit strainer and ice cream maker (I haven't used this yet). I have the heavy duty mixer as we can tomatoe sauce. I gave the smaller one to my friend. I have a couple of questions;
1. Does the ice cream bowl HAVE to stay in the freezer at all times?
2. I have the larger hopper that slides onto the meat grinder hopper to make tomato sauce. Can you make this so it fits into the meat grinding hopper half way (tube-shaped, medium bowl shaped on top) or put seals on the parts to avoid spilling over when it gets too much juice?

Broke first use.

Received as a gift. Was SO excited but the during the first use processing Roma tomatoes and the strainer is split. Now it’s useless.
