We have used the fruit and vegetable strainer attachment for at least 16 years and have made 100’s of quarts of applesauce. So easy to use.

I bought my model several years ago and have mostly used it for tomato sauce. It does not work for chokecherries as the seeds are too big. I love this strainer. It works great. Clean up is very easy.

Doesn't come complete and doesn't work for apples.

I bought this to make apple sauce. I knew I had to have the meat grinder attachment to complete the strainer, because it doesn't come with all the parts you need. (That seems stupid) I already had the meat grinder so I thought that would work. Wrong! Even though I had a KitchenAid meat grinder, it would not fit. I had to buy a new one. Finally I had the right parts and I was excited to try it out. At first I got juice and there was some dry sauce-like stuff coming out the little holes. I had only a few apples go through but then I couldn't get any more to go through. The mixer was getting too warm. I quit. Maybe it would work with raspberries but I'm not sure of that either. I would not recommend this strainer.

A Home Canner’s Best Friend!

I have had this attachment for years. I love it for helping to prepare tomatoes and blackberries for juice. It is a huge time-saver! And easy to clean up.
I have the 5 1/2 quart bowl-lift mixer. If you have the 2-quart and 1-quart Tupperware pitchers, use them and you will have virtually no mess. I use the 2 quart to catch the juice and the 1 quart to catch the pulp. The height of the 2 quart means all the splashing is contained in the pitcher. Also you can then easily pour the juice into whatever storage container you are using. I never add liquids to my Kitchenaid juicer/strainer because I don’t want to risk them getting back into the gears/motor and ruining my mixer. What I do instead is take my parts outside and use the water hose to clean them out. The pressure easily removes debris from the strainer. And the ants can enjoy whatever remnants hit the ground. Then spray a little Clorox cleanup on the white parts if you processed blackberries so they won’t stay purple. Pop in the dishwasher and done.

Have had this for a couple of years and use it to make tomato sauce regularly and, when I lived north, would strain my applesauce for the baby across the street. Does the job it is intended and makes the chore at hand much easier.

So easy to assemble and disassemble. Works great.

I love this product. Yesterday, I did 18 jars of jelly, using mixed berries, and this strainer was infinitely easier to manage than the Victorio I'd been using. I didn't have leaking, I didn't need to get out the pliers, no juice landed on the floor or the counter, it assembled easily, and taking it apart was easy -- what a blessing. The Victorio worked but was very messy and very difficult to disassemble. A few cautions -- this strainer goes with the newer meat grinder attachment. I already knew that, so I bought the grinder as well. Also, it helps to lift up the bowl for the juice by setting it on something so the bowl for the juice is a bit higher than the other bowl for the skin/seeds. Otherwise, they don't both fit easily under the strainer. One other caution -- I put a towel down on the counter to catch any flecks of juice escaping the stream downward. But, having lifted the bowl higher, honestly, there weren't that many flecks. The benefits of this strainer FAR outweigh the negatives. I know people are mad that this strainer doesn't fit on the old grinder, and they feel surprised and not forewarned, and I do understand that, but that isn't a reason, IMO, to give this strainer a negative review. Once you have the right parts, it works so well. I'm very, very happy with it.
