Terrible!

My husband and I both got the Lg g8x phones and the dual screens. They are terrible! We have had them for almost 6 months. They run very slow, will kick us out of apps or web browser, or randomly open apps. Have had it call the emergency number 2 times while not even being touched. Also very fragile. My phone has been in a case since i got it and the back of my is already broken/ shattered. Buttons on side do not always respond. Thumb print unlock does not work most of time. I hate that we are now stuck with these phones. Waste of a lot of money!

I absolutely love the phone however

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I give the phone 5 stars however the dual screen case was a let down... I preordered my thinq from my provider and got the dual screen directly from LG. After getting the dual screen i loved the phone even more about a week into owning the dual screen i noticed that the actual screen mounted in the case was coming loose. I thought nothing of it because i wasnt sure if it was normal to look or feel the way that it did. Sure enough 3 weeks later the screen fell out completely one day when i opened my phone. Again the phone itself is a great product and im sure the dual screen is too however i unfortunately didnt have mine long enough to make an official decision about it.
Pros: Style/Design, ease of use, Features/Settings, battery, Performance, camera

Cool feature, but be careful with it
on December 3, 2019

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought the LG G8X bundle about three weeks ago, and its a great phone with a cool feature (the dual screen case). Really, the package is amazing, and it does everything as promised.
However, beware that the front glass panel on the outside of the case scratches extremely, extremely easily. I have only ever stored the phone in my pocket by itself or face up on a table or wireless charger, and somehow a scratch has appeared on the top right of the glass. You'd think the outward facing glass would be durable as it's what most frequently exposed, but I guess not?
Otherwise, great phone, which is why I'm only reviewing the case. Certainly worth it, just be careful. Even if you consider yourself to be very careful with your devices, be more careful than that.
LG - I'd love to hear from you on this. New LG user, and would be curious if there is any possible resolution. Thanks!

Dual Screen is Biggest Pro AND Con
on January 31, 2020

I absolutely love my new phone. Inside or outside of the dual case it is fantastic. It's even better and more fun with the dual screen. However- due to the phone with the dual screen it makes it too large for me to hold. I have dropped it twice while in the dual case. The first time it just had minor scrapes to the sides. This last time I dropped it the front screen cracked in the corner- the side with the notifications. I know I can't be the only person who drops their phone accidentally. The back is protected in the dual screen, but the front is totally exposed glass and there's no bumpers on the front sides in the case of a drop. Now I have a new phone with a cracked screen and I feel foolish for buying a delicate phone but I just wanted to have the dual screen excitement. Still worth it- but really disheartening. At least my phone itself is still okay. I just feel there should be safe guards for those of us who want to keep the dual screen on constantly, to be able to use it out in the world, instead of just at home.
Pros: Features/Settings, Performance, easy to use

LG strives to create devices that will withstand the rigors of daily life. That being said, it is next to impossible to develop a device that will perform in every scenario. Please feel free to give us a call at 1-800-793-8896 or drop us a line at Twitter at @LGUSSupport or on Facebook at @LGUSSupport so we can see what we can do.

LG G8X ThinQ

The phone has a nice screen but has some issues. I can't seem to connect to my wi-fi at home (haven't tried anywhere else). Without a case could easily get damaged because it's very slippery. Waiting on dual screen. LG support really stinks. I tried to register for the second year promise and kept getting an error. Finally didn't get an error but NO response as to if the registration took. Contacted several them several times about the dual screen promo because of a timing problem and ALL I GET IS A COMPUTERIZED RESPONSE. THEY SEEM TO CARE LESS ABOUT CUSTOMERS. It will probably be the last time I get an LG. Not that the phones are that bad but customer support is Horrible and very impersonal.

Love This Phone
on December 4, 2019

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this phone! This is now my 3rd LG phone, and this has exactly what I want! I am so happy with the dual screen, and LOVE the wide view when browsing the web in Chrome. I would love to see more apps take advantage of the wide view, but for a guy that is 47, and needs reading glasses most of the time, I LOVE the extra screen real estate, and love being able to respond to work emails while viewing a PDF on the other screen. I also received the second screen case in less than 3 weeks, which I want to give great credit to LG promotions for. The only thing I would say, is why not include the case with the phone originally? Clearly this is the reason you would purchase this phone...I feel like sometimes LG has some of the greatest products, but it's the little things they miss, as I will indicate below. I have LG everything in my home, and would love to help answer questions from time to time to help make their products better if they would ask!
Now for the negatives which prevent me from giving 5 stars:
1. It is impossible to use the dual screen case with Android Auto. I travel a lot and love using Android Auto, however with the magnetic charger it constantly looses connection with my Uconnect system. So if you use Android Auto there are two options. Take it out of the case or use a secondary phone or device for navigation in the car. I am concerned about using the second case because I called LG and they said that the case is not covered by the second year warranty, only the phone is. I am concerned that if I take the phone in and out of the case repeatedly the second screen will not function correctly. I am glad to see that I can buy a second screen case as a replacement, but how long will they be available? (Also when I called support yesterday they told me I would never be able to buy the second case separately, so it seems that proper communication is not happening...see below) If I use a secondary device (which I have) then I can't answer calls in my car on my main cell phone and all the music I love to listen to there isn't enough room on the second device for all of my music....I wish the magnetic connection was in the case and the usb-c connection was on the outside of the case so that you can use Android Auto. Just remember, if you use Android Auto, you are GOING to have issues with this phone when it is in the dual screen case.
2. Now to my second issue: I have owned my device for 6 days shy of a month, and I still cannot register my device for the second year promise warranty. I have emailed support, and called support a total of 3 times about this issue. Originally I was told it may take 15 days for the IMEI number to replicate in their system. I waited, and wasn't able to register. It is now 24 days, and I still can't register the device. Seems to me that there needs to be something cleaned up there. I have tried to register the device at least 15 times, and still cannot register it. As noted above I did receive the second screen case early so I know that my IMEI number passed their systems checks, but I still cannot register it...In my last email from LG they said they would notify me when I could register it...That process just seems like it needs to get fixed.
Would I buy the phone again? I think so, but the Android Auto is the biggest thing for me. So I struggle to say for sure until I figure out a solution for in the car...
