Excellent range

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Works very well and looks great! The small and large ovens make a great combination. I love that both ovens are self cleaning. My only complaints are the low setting on some of the burners is a little too high and I wish there was a cover for the griddle.

Love my range, but...

I purchased my range when I remodeled my kitchen back in 2017. It's not exactly like this model but it is a dual fuel, water assist model. The controls for the ovens locked up with an error code about 3 years ago. The service guy pretty much replaced every part trying to fix it. It finally turned out to be the main control board. Since then, the oven temperature has not worked properly on the main oven. I end up with uncooked roasts on the regular. My unit model is #KDRU783VSS03. I have viewed some youtube videos of newer model wall ovens that allow you to calibrate the temperature. I cannot find anything regarding my model. Can anyone help?

I like the bake, stove however, the stoves knobs are too easy to release the gas on. even just a smallest bump. it will just lease the gas. you will smell the gas. it is absolutely hazards. it should be recall on the matter. I regrated buying this for this gas leak matter. it cooked well but you could die or your house burn down from gas leak .

Cracked Cooktop Grates!

Unfortunately, I also experienced the cracked cooktop grates. The first cracked within the 1 year warranty period and was replaced at no charge. The second happened at about 18 months and even though we spent a lot of money on the Certified Care extended warranty, it was not covered! I urge you to read the extensive Terms & Conditions prior to purchasing the extended warranty through KitchenAid. Section 13(e) indicates that "non-functional parts" are not covered and KitchenAid has a very broad understanding of what constitutes non-functioning! I don't know how you're supposed to use the cooktop without the grates to hold up your pots and pans!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Poorly made

I've had the light blue double oven range for three years. The problems range from minor to ridiculous. All of the rubber feet have come off of the grates, due to "excessive heat." The electric igniter does not work quickly anymore. The light blue paint is chipping on the oven door where "it got too hot,' and it has a burn mark from heat coming out of the oven door. The hinge on the large oven is broken and we have to keep a random tool by the appliance in case the door won't open when I need to get food out. The glass on the oven door has shattered twice while the oven was in use. It is not worth the money.

Needs Improvement

We had this range installed in our new home. We closed in November of 2020. First it wasn’t installed properly, and that was repaired. For a “commercial range” this is the most delicate range I have ever owned. I have not cooked a lot during covid, so it has had minimal use. It functions well; however the overall cleaning and care of this range is difficult. The stainless scratches with just the brush of a plastic spatula across it. I have to use a paper towel or very soft cloth to clean the cooktop portion because it scratches if you use anything else. Very disappointed. When I start the family dinners again, this range will be a nightmare to maintain.
