Don’t buy it

I bought model# VS 1130, which is identical to this one. It worked fine at first, but I was unable to use it with my Mason jar sealers. Even though I was given a different hose for free to attach to this unit, it still did not work. After looking at some of the reviews and trying different things to get it to work it is now broke it won’t work at all. Also, you cannot take bigger bags cut them into smaller sizes to fit this one seal it and use it. It won’t seal appropriately and air gets into the bag. Save yourself the money and get a bigger machine. I bought a handheld sealer for the jars and it works fine! I was trying to save counterspace and a little bit of money for bags, but now I’m gonna have to spend more money to buy a bigger one.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was a great product. It was very easy and simple to use. Great for saving your food. It makes your leftovers or fresh food last so much longer. It can also be used for sous vide cooking. I highly recommend purchasing one of these products.

Food stays fresher longer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have seen these advertised for years and always thought it sounded like a good idea. I tend to buy in bulk and store in the freezer. Up until now I have used standard freezer bags that I would try to squeeze all of the air out of. With the foodsaver everything lasts much longer whether it is in the refrigerator or freezer. I am very pleased with it.

I think i broke mine by trying to make a smaller sized vacuum seal bag; the vacuum seal seemed to weaken as a result. Was happy with it before this occurred.

Inconsistent sealing

I bought this last weekend and my excitement faded quickly. I did 10 items and only 3 vacuumed then sealed as stated. I attempted to do each process manually and it worked but that is not what is advertised.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
