A well-designed food sealer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this food saver two weeks ago. I'm a hunter, and I have used another one for the last several years, mainly to seal packages of game. Other sealers I have used have the sealing surface several inches above the counter top. As a result, when the material is placed in the sealer, the weight of the material being sealed pulls the material and sometimes the seal don't work. This unit has the sealing surface at the appropriate angle so the bag being sealed can rest on the counter and not pull on the sealed surface. Every bag I have sealed has been perfect, with a continuous great seal.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I recently purchased after my food saver my mother gave me - won't seal any more - very old! I used to use it all they time - I purchased this and love that it is small and for the two of us it is perfect!
I would recommend this to a friend!

A kitchen necessity

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my first time using a food vacuum sealer and I'm not sure how we never got one sooner. I have a family of 5 and be conscientious on how I store or freeze our food very important. The food sealer has helped me be able to seal my food per meal type and properly store left overs for freshness. Not to mention this product has made it much easier to meal prep and seal fruit per shakes. The sealer is user friendly, has an intuitive control panel and features a seal & vacuum indicator light, accessory port, lock latch, upper and lower gasket, an extra wide sealing strip and removable dripping tray. It also comes with a generous amount of seal bags. Overall, the product proves to be an extremely helpful and useful piece of kitchen equipment and definitely something every food enthusiast should own. I highly recommend this product.

Compact, easy to use

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Loving this compact sized sealer. It is so easy to use. Being my first experience with using a sealer I was expecting a few mishaps but this sealer does all the work for you. The touch controls are simple and instructions included made my first attempt successful.
Simply place your food in the bag. Make sure you leave at least 3" of space at top of bag. Open your sealer, place open end onto channel. Close lid, latch it and press vacuum. It's that simple.
This is compact in size and easily stores in my cabinet.
I found additional bags readily available at my local box store.

worst unit I have ever seen had it two or three months not used much it wont seal good tried to order upper and lower gaskets but you cant find a single gasket for the VS1100 only 2000,3000,4000,5000 series apparently they don't sell gaskets for the VS1100 and it is worthless because it want pull a vaccum or seal! terrible unit !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Excellent product

When we had a house full of kids and their companions this food saver was worth its weight in non-spoiled left overs. As we have down Sized to just 2 the larger unit was overkill. The smaller unit has served us much better!

It's very compact so doesn't really need a lot of space (you may just take it out from your shelf only when you really need it). And, I only need to store small amount items because I live by myself. So, if your purpose is similar as mine, this would be good choice. Vacuum and sealing work very well too.
