After some research, I bought this FoodSaver to replace a simpler model that I had for many years. There was a learning curve but now I find it so much easier to use than my old one. I can make bags, fill them and seal them in a snap. I highly recommend this model.

product has great features, is easy to use, and the manuals are easy to read and very helpful. Took about 5 minutes to set it up and first bag was filled with salmon for sous vide 5 minutes later. Very pleased with purchase

Handheld sealer a problem

I bought my FoodSaver a couple of years ago and use it, love it BUT for the handheld sealer. I cannot seem to get it to work. As I have the bags to use with the handhelf I now find myself cutting the top off so to vacumn seal normally. I did not get an 'instruction booklet' with the package I purchased.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Doesn't seal

Sometime it seals, most time it doesn't. Put the bag in and the motor just run endlessly while nothing happens.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Our sincere apologies if the machine is no longer working the way it used to, wherein, it will seal sometimes and the vacuum keeps on running during the process. This is not the experience we want you to have with our products.
We would like to politely suggests to check if the drip tray and the gaskets are all clean and dry. Also, we can do a spoon test by sealing a spoon inside the bag. Kindly wait 30 seconds between seals to allow appliance to cool. We could try to pre-freeze moist and juicy foods for best results. In any case, you were done with all these tips, and everything fails, please send an email or call us during your most convenient time at FoodSaver® Canada Customer Service 1-877-804-5383 to better assist you.

Not Happy after owning 4 Food Savers

I have now owned 4 Food Savers and this is definitely the worst one I have ever owned! It should be easy to line up the bag and have it seal properly, but this one just does not seal the way it should. I should not have to waste plastic rolls because it just won't seal...air is left in the bag when sealing....
