The design of the Food Saver FM5200 is very nice. The stainless steel and black complement each other well. It fits well on the counter and doesn't look out of place. At first it seemed difficult to use but after reading the instructions and using it for over a week, it gets simpler each time. The bag maker is nice, allowing me to custom make bags for each use and minimize waste. The handheld sealer is also a very nice feature. Using it with the zipper bags and containers makes saving leftovers a breeze. If you are in the market for a Food Saver, don't pass this model up.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Got this a couple days ago and so far I have broken up 6lbs of ground beef into 5 meals for my family of 4, the steaks i got, and the chicken drumsticks are now split up so no more freezer burnt food no more rushing to use the stuff before it goes bad. I always hated that I had no way of storing stews and chilies easier than double bagging them but now I cant wait to get the containers and be able to save the left overs and make big meals just to be able to save it for other nights. Were enev thinking of getting a stand up freezer instead of our chest freezer to make it easier for sorting and storage.

A few months ago we bought the FM5400 system and a few accessory containers, last week I bought some strawberries from the grower, and after freezing and jamming most of them, I filled the large container, (fresh 3 pk with trays) with berries stems removed, sealed and stored in refrigerator.. for 6 days, checking them visually each day.. when we opened the container the berries were as fresh and firm as when I put them in.. Normally this tender fruit would not last for more than 2 days in a covered bowl in fridge.. Very pleased..

Need many hands and fingers!

So difficult to use. Commented below as well. Other models are so much easier to use. Need multiple hands and fingers to manipulate all of the pieces. Doesn't look like any other model operates this way. So disappointed.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Best vacuum dealing machine I've had yet. Easy to use and the fact that you don't have to make 2 seals makes it much more interesting to use. My philosophy, if it's easier, you'll use it more often. Wish it could be more mobile. It's counter top only.
