Will not vacuum.

We got this for our church and it will mot vacuum. It just runs and runs. Wish we could return, but do not know who purchased it for the churches kitchen.

Here are a few troubleshooting steps that may help:

- Check the gasket of the machine. If it is damaged or dirty, the unit may not vacuum or seal properly. Clean any food materials from the gasket. For a removable gasket, try removing, flipping it over, reinserting it, and testing the unit again.
- Ensure the open end of the bag is placed entirely inside the vacuum channel. The bag’s edge should not extend beyond this channel. Also, avoid creating your own side seams, FoodSaver bags are manufactured with sealed side seams designed for proper vacuuming.
- Test the bag for leaks by sealing it with a small amount of air inside, submerging it in water, and applying pressure. If you see bubbles, the bag has a leak and should be replaced.
- If vacuum sealing moist foods, we recommend pre-freezing them for 1–2 hours. Excess liquid can interfere with the vacuum process and may cause permanent damage to the unit.

This is the 3th Foodsaver Vacuum Sealer I have purchased always upgrading I wear them out using them Love the products and have never had an issue with use I just had to retire this one and bought the V4400 making this the 4th not bad for 22 years of sealing from meat to summer produce and fruits Aways easy to use just wish the V4400 had automatic seal and cut
I would recommend this to a friend!

Love the Automatic feature!

My old V3200 series Food Saver’s handle broke & I couldn’t find parts for it bought the V4440. It works great. I love the automatic feature! The only thing I don’t like is it uses a lot of bag to seal, and those bags aren’t cheap! I wish you didn’t have to stick it in so far before it starts sealing. But overall it’s a great product.

Generally a very good machine, but sometimes you have to remove, then reinsert to seal. Seems we may not always lineup the bag correctly, so maybe a guide on the machine would help avoid having to reset as often. Also, how the plug extends out from the bottom of the machine would benefit from a better design. Overall, mostly satisfied and recommend.
