Lots of money saved!

I love my FoodSaver!! I use it multiple times a day for many reasons! I keep my bacon fresh by vacuum sealing the open package. I buy ciabatta rolls in bulk, vacuum seal 2 per bag and freeze them. I also buy meat in bulk and break it down into smaller portions and freeze it. It’s just my husband and I so we need the smaller portions but we only get paid once a month and we have a fixed income. So I grocery shop once a month and often times buy the majority of our foods in bulk. We’re able to save a lot of money and wasted food thanks to our FoodSaver!

I bought this unit 2yrs ago and did what was asked of me to keep clean and a plastic parts inside finally dried out and broke off, and the unit stopped working. If you only expect 2 years of service than this is the unit! I'm very upset about this!

First runs were fun

Read the instructions even if you watched the videos. The seal is fantastic if done properly. Make sure you leave enough room for sealing , don’t let your food create an uneven area near the final seal (chicken legs higher than the rest was a problem) . Once I figured that out, I tried one of the ziplock bags. Make sure your food is clear of the circle area; put the attachment over the hole before hitting attachment-nice tight vacuum around the popped popcorn we’re taking camping. This will definitely free up space in my freezers and fingers crossed for no freezer burn.

I bought this product about 2 weeks ago, I sealed about 6 bags and as I was sealing the last few bags, the product sounded like it was getting weak. Now the unit will not even power on. Very disappointed in this foodsaver. I have had my old one for 10 years. The model number is the sv4440
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Ehh!

Wanted this machine as an upgrade and thought it was great at first. After a few times sealing, it quit sealing and I had to go about 3 rounds to get a decent seal. I'm now having to look into another one in less than a year because it just doesnt want to seal great anymore, and I am not wanting our food to be bad because if a seal.

Would NOT live without it!

There was a little bit of a learning curve on this new machine. However, there is NO WAY I would EVER not have this in my kitchen!
I have almost every small appliance known to man, in a special room near my pantry outside my kitchen...THIS is the ONLY one on my counter all the time. I had to purchase a new one as mine got hit with some weird power surge in my kitchen which also took out my new fridge.
I love this particular model because I vacuum seal lots of things in Mason jars and this one does a perfect job of that.
I would give Food Saver 10 stars if possible! It's the best product of its kind!!!
When my two daughters get their new homes, THIS is the one thing they asked for, as a house warming gift from me!

Good but not great.

I like it but I don't love it. It has to cool down between each seal so it's slow unless you manage your ergonomics. It won't make the seal under vacuum until it senses that the vacuum level in the bag is low enough- which is good, but It frequently won't trap the bag material well enough to get into seal mode. After practice you can listen to the vacuum pump and tell if it's going to make a good vacuum or whether you need to reposition the bag. The roll materials have a curl to them that can make it frustrating to get the material into the machine and trip the sensor to get the seal process going. Once again you need practice. I have successfully processed hundreds of pounds of fish and venison however. I'd say that around 2% of the bags leak air after sealing.
