This is a replacement for a FS I was given as a gift many years ago. I wanted to have the ability to use the accessory hose which I didn't have on my first unit. I love it. I use it every time I go grocery shopping. I even have the small hand held unit for my RV.

It took a little to figure out just the right way of getting it in to start sealing. Uses a lot more material than my old one I used. Not impressed, would look for a different one next time I need one.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Love the retractable accessory port and the automatic vacuum then seal function. We use this unit much more than we used a previous unit that didn't have these features. Very happy with our upgrade.

Great machine, fantastic customer service

I dont normally go out of my way to leave a review, but feel I need to about this product, and the company as a whole. I purchased the 4400 a few years ago, and loved it. The thing is a workhorse! We use it multiple times a day and during hunting season, use it to quickly bag up venison. A few weeks ago, it started failing us, it was a sort of power issue, it kept turning off mid seal, and finally, stopped turning on all together. This company stands by their product. I was amazed and impressed to see it had a 5 year warranty. I contacted them, they asked for me to send thenold one to them, and they very quickly sent me out a replacement. Even though there was an issue with my machine I'm giving them 5 stars for exceptional customer service!

Manual VS Automatic...newer isn't always better.

I preferred the manual food saver I had previously. It was more versatile. This one is more particular of the cut edge, harder to reseal chip bags. Hard to put double seal on them. Newer isn't always better. But it is what it is the manual was not available. Not sure if any other brands may have manual or not.
