It works, and looks good.
I thought cord was way too short, but I bought a short extension so it was not a big deal.
I have not used the sealer much but twice it never shut off during the vacuum cycle, it may have been user error?

Also, I thought the jar type container on the end of the remote jar and remote bag vacuum hose was hard for me to remove, I thought it was going to break. I still am not sure how to remove it properly?

Excellent foodsaver machine

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this foodsaver a couple of years ago and it still works like it was new. It saves us tons of money by keeping our food fresh, It even reseals our potato chip bags. I can't imagine not having one of these in my home.

No instruction manual

So excited when my VS3180 unit arrived yesterday. Need to start processing green beans today but there’s no instructional manual at all. I don’t know if I should blanch the beans first or not. First appliance I’ve ever bought that didn’t come with a basic “how to” instruction booklet! Disappointed and haven’t even used it yet!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I purchased this Food Saver in the attempt to reduce some costs in buying food that either is priced higher or that can not be wrapped and saved for a later date. I have not had the product long enough to give it a GREAT review, thus the reason for only the 4 star rating. So far it works well, is easy to use and seems to be a quality product, but I have withheld the 5 star rating because it has only been used about a dozen times so far.
