Owned 2 Foodsaver models - Beyond Frustrated

We have owned two different higher end models and they have both failed us prematurely. These units had minimal use and were stored clean and cared for. I tried to obtain repair parts and it seems as though FoodSaver products are not designed to be repaired by consumers. We have multiple accessories and containers designed for the FoodSaver brand and would like to have restored faith in the future, but so far we have been frustrated with product longevity.

Good Features, Bad Reliability

This is my 5th unit. All failed between 2 and 3 years. I rate my use as moderate and I go through multiple rolls and boxes of precut bags per year. the features on the top end unit, such as the one touch seal, wet and dry modes and easy to use clean up tray are great. The reliability of the unit is not so great. After a year or two of service the vacuum pump does not draw enough to remove all the air from the bags. And about 3 to 6% of the bags sealed failed in the freezer completely wiping out any "savings" from freezer burn etc. Very frustrated. For sure this is my last unit from this company.

When it works its great

This sealer is great when it works. I have owned it for two years and about 1 year in it started giving me trouble. Cleaning it is absolutely the worst experience. Its incredible hard to get inside and it doesn't sit well to even clean. The levers inside that trigger the bag are almost designed to be food debris magnets. What a poor design. Look at photo from above from another review and I would 2nd that image.
The gasket almost always comes free and then pinches itself. This deforms the gasket which interns makes it less effective and now you have to replace the gasket. This seems like a mechanic to make you buy more gaskets.

Doesn't suck all the air

I bought this a month ago and first time using it and it's a nightmare won't get air all the way out and doesn't seal after it has vacuumed every time. I watched several videos as well and it's not worth it

Do not buy - vacuum does not work very long.

After a short use, the problem so far is with the vacuum. It does not completely vacuum the air out. It continues to run green lights to three bars. I have to use manual sealing. The accessory does not vacuum at all. So far a piece of junk. Same problem as other people of completely vacuuming the air out. A lot of money for nothing. The first Foodsaver I bought worked fine. I bought the v4440 to save counter space. It took up space in my pantry. It will cost 1/3 of the price to return it for repair or replacement.

Vacuum doesn’t suck. Food saver does

I’ve used my machine for less than 12 months. Quit vacuum. Only feature I need doesn’t work. My previous machine (gave to daughter was great). Food saver equipment is poor quality and will never buy another one. Too expensive Wasted food, time and moneys

Good Luck Cleaning It

Works okay. However, they didn’t make it so you can clean the upper area of the inside. Now, seal some fish that pulls fish juice into it and try to get the smell to go away. Tray doesn’t remove. You can pull it out as far as you can but there is no real access to clean the two paddles inside or the absorbent foam. Should be rated for outdoor use only.

Frustrated

I have had nothing but trouble with this exact one since I purchased it. It never seal correctly and now it won't seal at all. The accessory tool still works but I don't use that feature often enough!!! Not happy with this product at all. I paid too much money for it for it not to seal at all now!
