Saves Money and Food

I just bought a new Food Saver. The other Food Saver is 10, yes, ten years old, and it still works. But, it's Christmas and we wanted an upgraded model. It sits on our counter and we use it at least once a week. We buy quality food, and especially meat. We grind our ground beef and my wife seasons it, adding onion, and bell pepper. We vacuum seal it and freeze it. We either defrost it in the microwave or reheat it in the pan to make various casseroles. I just recently thawed out a prime year that we froze after sealing it. It tasted fresh as if we just bought it. (Check out FoodSaver DAM bags.) No that's not a bad word. If you have say ground meat with a lot of liquid, it prevents the liquid from entering the device.

Sealing DRY ingredients this unit is Superb!

I have had a Food Saver sealer for many many years. I recently upgraded my sealer to the V4440 model. If you are only planning on sealing dry items this is a 5 star model. If your intentions are to seal moist and or items with any type of slight liquid to them this is a 3 star model. You MUST fill the bag and put in freezer unsealed. Once the item is frozen then remove from freezer and then seal. If you skip this important step the drip tray sensors will stop the unit from working until the sensors have time to dry out. It can take up to 24 hours before it will turn on again depending on the amount of liquid that enters the drip tray.

I've been using this same micellar for years. This is my 3rd one over the last 8-9 years. I use it so the time. The marinator gets used several times a week. My only wish it that the marinator attachment where it goes into the container was made of medal. This is the only reason I've had to replace each one. No parts offered for that or if just of replaced the past the last 2 times. Lol
