I watched to see if it would avoid going down the flight of steps. This robot is smart. It avoided the steps with ease.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this gadget a little over a month ago and was a bit overwhelmed trying to learn how to use it. The great thing is that the se support you get on the phone us amazing. The product is awesome. the most difficult part was connecting it to my phone since it requires a lower speed setting 2.4 versus 5. Once everything is up and running the machine does all the work for you
I have it for 2 month and so far so good. However, something start happening with battery life. Before it was working for the entire house floor now only half of that space. Overall still nice product and powerful. Will try to call support for battery replacement.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I previously had a Roomba that stopped working so I thought I would try a different vacuum. I researched the vacuums and the Deebot 950 seemed to have the highest suction power so I thought that could pick up my pet hair better. Got the vacuum was easy enough to set up, then I started it. It had a very loud screeching sound every time it turned around on the hard floors. It also did not pick up my pet hair as well as the Roomba. I assumed it was a squeaky wheel. Eventually after maybe 2 weeks I noticed some scratches on my floor that hadn’t been there before. Ran it again to test and it did indeed scratch my floor while vacuuming. I returned this item.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It's very good on hardwood and rugs, has no issues like other brands climbs on rugs and etc. Roborock S6 isn't as good. Has sensor for carpet detection and this avoid to go over carpet or rug while in mopping mode. currently unique and very useful feature. soon will be avail in roborock S5 MAX, S6 doesn't have it. Multi floor feature - also useful. roborock s6 doesn't have it water dripping for mopping is controlled from the app, several levels - this is useful and also unique for 950
cons: 1. LDS, laser sensor isn't horizontal that is the issue as 950 can easily get under bed, but can't get out as from distance it doesn't see a way out and as result gets stuck under bed. sure this area can be marked as no go zone, but how to clean under bed in this case? 2. app doesn't have virtual walls, which are useful; roborock s5, s6 has it. 950 has just box as no go zone, which only horizontal or vertical 3. no map edit and no map selection. you can't create new map at will if any exists and it might overlap the area - 950 choose by itself, which isn't correct map for the area 4. 2 floors required 2 charging docks to work as expected, otherwise map selection isn't guaranteed 5. it's loud. roborock S6 a bit quieter 6. app doesn't have many features like manual navigation, map management, virtual walls
I think that updates to firmware and app software can address current issues and add missing features.

Thank you for your review. Two charging docks are not required to use the multi-floor mapping capabilities, the same charging dock can be used on both floors. The app does have map management in that areas can be merged and labeled, and the robot does have virtual boundary capabilities. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this a little over a month ago for my wife to help after we had our third child. We got the mapping done and it was doing a wonderful job with cleaning and navigating our house. That is, until Ecovacs forced us to upgrade the firmware. Upon login to the app we were told that our vacuum firmware was too old and that we had to upgrade it to continue. So, we upgraded the firmware. After that update, the vacuum can't find itself anymore the majority of the time. We were extensively using the "area" cleaning feature and that's useless when the vacuum can't navigate. Unless Ecovacs can fix the navigation they broke, I think we'll be returning this for an iRobot Roomba.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
