The laptop is nice overall and is lightweight. However I was very disappointed because some of the buttons on the keyboard are kind of stuck and you have to press really hard to be able to type. I have only used laptop for one and a half month. Not good build quality. Also the battery life is very short
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Did a lot of research on 2 in 1 laptops and decided the Lenovo x1 gen was the best option for me... All the bells and whistles I needed plus the practical pieces like an HDMI port and a place for the stylus to be stored... Some other competitors did not have these two very important pieces and therefore was part of helping me make the decision to purchase. The speed is great and the resolution is fantastic!
As all Lenovo products, this X1 Yoga is a high quality product in every dimension (but one as explained below). It is also beautiful and feels sturdy.
Pros: You can review several public reviews to see how good this product is and all its features.
Cons: The main con is the screen brightness.
Please note that the Lenovo Website presents a beautiful and colorful "papagayo" picture and mentions "Dolby Display". However in the small print they say that applies only to screens with 500 nits only (just a small subset of the available versions).
Wen I received the new gen 4 X1 Yoga, I compared the screen with three devices at home: 1) a low-end cellphone , 2) a low-end 10" Tablet, and 3) my work laptop. In ALL cases, the brightness, contrast and color definition were better than in my new UHD X1 Yoga 500 nits. Very disappointing!
Just to be sure, I installed a software in the two laptops. In my work laptop it gave me a Max Peak Luminance of 250 and in my UHD Lenovo X1 Yoga it gave me 100!!!!!!! This confirmed that my subjective impression when comparing he three screens was correct.
Too bad for Lenovo! Having been a loyal customer for years in both work and home (I did not even considered another brand when searching for my new computer), I switched to another brand as Lenovo has not keep up-to-date with the screen quality.
The Lenovo website was easy to navigate; pricing is competitive. The YogaX1 is light and immediately upon arrival able to function. The writing pen is well stored on the side of the laptop and is a great benefit for notetaking. We were used to the surface pen functions so transitioning over was easy with microsoft software. High Recommendations for this unit. ONLY concern is the delivery - Lenovo should have a signed delivery since it is easy for loss or risk of stolen goods if delivered incorrectly.

It is a great computer just with some little flaws. Screen brightness is changing sometimes based on CPU load or so, or screen shows short flickering. Screen is barely bright enough to work outside. Mouse pointer stops shortly when trackpoint buttons are used. Wifi connection was dropping frequently.
