I just received mine last week! I immediately used it all over my house and it sucked up everything including all my dog hair!!! The only thing is when I turn it on theres the smell of something burning. Im not sure if this is normal but Im hoping it goes away because I love this vacuum!

I've used the Shark Apex now to vacuum the whole house. It has wonderful suction, a great-shaped sweeping head, is lighter and quieter than my wonderful old vacuum. Love the under-appliance attachment! But I'll have to learn just how Shark users vacuum under beds, sofas, chairs, etc. because there is no long enough hose or attachment to do that!
Surely everyone isn't strong enough to move the furniture, or comfortable with leaving dirt under all of it!

The sole reason I purchased this Shark vacuum was for the “anti-wrap” technology. I had an ancient Dyson vacuum that I was tired of having to cut out the hair wrapped around the roller. With three people in the house with long hair plus a Golden Retriever and two Papillion dogs, we live in a hairy house that needs daily vacuuming. When I saw this particular vacuum with its claim of no wrapping around the roll, I was sold. To be fair, it did work great the first 8-10 months but after that, it was just like any other upright vacuum and I had to start checking it frequently for hair around the roller. It is so frustrating to have to take the time to continuously cut the hair off and clean the roller, when supposedly this vacuum would be different. Added to which, the hose is so short and doesn’t extend at all so you have to hold the canister all the time because if you set it down, it constantly falls over. The only good thing I can say about this vacuum is that it has great suction. Parting advice: pass this vacuum by entirely. I’m saving for a Dyson.

Not as great as the infomercial

I’ve been using the vacuum for over a year. I mostly use on area rugs and bare floors. The eye catcher was the whole hair management roller the company pushed however I find the hair does wrap around roller and the comb in front of the padded roller catches everything and builds up. I have long thick hair. And not sure why any company would put out a vacuum hose as worthless as the one this vacuum comes with. It does not work as canister vacuum at all. The company should redesign a hose that actually stretches more than a couple inches and send to those of us who purchased this vacuum. I feel frauded on that alone. I also purchased the bag of attachments and find they do not fit very well and almost aren’t sized right. Most of the parts of the vacuum click together these slide in about a 1/4 inch and fall out once you begin to use. The suction is phenomenal. I like that I can take and wash under running water the dust cup and filters. Just make sure they are completely dry. The vacuum is kind of heavy to carry up and stairs to multiple levels. Mostly disappointed and mostly due to the worthless hose. For the price I was expecting so much more.

Floor Nozzle, belt and dust cup failures!!

I have over 10 of these vacuums and every single one of them has broken in the same spots. First the belts will slip off the gear and then wear through the side of the plastic. Oh and you can't get a new belt unless you research and order from china which I did since it was such a common issue. Then the back part of the frame will break where it is screwed together and the wheel will pop out and always on the left side. Prob because most people are right handed so it prob flexed that way more often. Then the dust cup will break at the attachment point and there is no fix for it. So if you like paying for additional parts and not having anything covered under warranty then this is the vacuum for you. When they are operational they do work great but not for long.

seems this vacuum is more for wood floors and vinyl floors. I have very low pile carpets and the vacuum does a seriously poor job sucking out the diamond patterns on the rug. the soft brush on the front does nothing on the rug. I end up using a shop vac more than this expensive vacuum. If they created a brush option for the soft roller I would bet it would make a huge difference using 2 brush rollers and people can switch between the soft or brush roller if needed. I am 4 days past my 90 day return and dont have the box anymore. maybe sell it and lose my shirt

I bought this vacuum because I used it at a friends house. I was impressed with it's ability to remove dust, grit(sand) and Labrador dog hair from the hardwood floors and rugs. I received mine a month ago and I am very pleased with the results. I use it on my slate floors which are dark grey, it removes the dust and dog hair perfectly. We have hardwood floors; same results. It also transitions from hardwood to rug seamlessly. I also like the long electrical cord, helpful when going room to room.
Just wish I had seen the referral money offer before I ordered it. My friend deserves a $20 referral fee.

Vacuum lasted less than 1 month. Our house is mostly hardwood flooring. Buy something else. Absolute waste of money.
