Poor Quality, GE is not the company it used to be!

I'm about 50 years old. I've owned four washing machines in my adult life. Honestly, I've never hated a washing machine more than I've hated this GE model. The first load I ever ran in it ruined my clothes. By default it only put a little bit of water in and then proceeded to agitate and damage my graphic tees--since there was not nearly enough water in it. You have to set it +6 gallons to prevent your clothes from being damaged, unless you are only washing a few garments, or fewer than two towels. Also, the machine has imbalance issues all the time, the attempts to re-balance just waste electricity and water, it just doesn't work. Note: I know how to load a washing machine to prevent imbalance, this machine just isn't designed to run a full load in it. The last issue I have is that the lid-lock switch is made poorly, it's fragile and breaks easily. I'm going to replace it one more time (it has just broken again on me, as I write this), and then I'm putting this darn thing out on the curb!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The Department of Energy sets standards for water usage, and over the years the amount of allowable water has decreased. Wish washers use less water and energy, you will no longer see a wash basket full of water. Additionally, most new washers are equipped with load-sensing technology, so the amount of water will vary based on load size and cycle selection.

Big, beautiful & quiet! Perfect addition to our home of 5–active family life always feeling buried by laundry! Not anymore! Love being able to set the system with my phone to run machine during the quieter parts of the day spacing out our energy usage. Great purchase!

Had the washer delivered and had 2 loads washed and in the dryer in just over an hour. Runs so smoothly and quiet I keep checking to see if it’s still going.

Never put one or two towels in with normal wearing

Headed over two years in like many of the complaints it always gets out of balance you can only put in three towels or 10 towels once they go through the rent cycle they always clump up on one side and you have to take completely soaking clothes out and stretch them out and lay them over and try engage the tub balancing out by watching it around the opening. If you put one single towel in with just regular socks underwears and shirts it will always run out of balance it's been looked at three times by authorized service. It will run train to rebalance water sometimes three times talk about a waste of freaking water
