We don’t “hate” it, but we don’t “love” it

We appreciate that on almost all the functions you can add more water, but we don’t understand why you can’t add more water to “normal”
I don’t like that you have to hit a specific button to drain the dirty water out
You can’t run a very small load in here, you have to almost have dummy towels to wash with whatever small thing you put In.
The “smart” feature doesn’t allow you to do do much from your phone either, I’m not sure what the point is.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Difficult to select normal settings

Difficult to select normal settings and using the automatic detergent dispenser. Can't tell if it is actually adding the detergent and there seems to be an extra step to add fabric softener. Why do you need to select extra fill to dispense fabric softener??? Also not sure if it added enough water. Maybe that is a smart feature - the manual says something about leaving the lid open??? Operating it is just frustrating!!!

Hello - We are sorry you have difficulties operating your washer. SmartDispense™: When selected, this feature will automatically add
detergent to the wash, eliminating the need to add
detergent for each load.
The detergent amount selection on the
control panel will default to AUTO when
first powering up the washing machine.
When AUTO is selected, the amount of
detergent needed for each laundry load
will automatically be determined based
on the size of the load the machine
senses. Liquid fabric softener/conditioner should be added to the small
drawer in the rear of the washer opening. You will need to select deep rinse to make sure the fabric dispenser is released during rinse cycle.
This top loading washer uses load sensing and adaptive water fill to provide just the right amount of water for best performance and low water usage.
The wash basket will turn briefly and assess the weight of the load. It will also do this after the load is saturated with water to assess how absorbent the load is. With the load weight and load type we can apply the proper amount of water to wash the load. The the lid must be closed for the washer to start cycle.

It was great when I first got it but now, about a year later, the washer will not spin and drain. Most loads I have to respond and that doesn't always work. I have to remove soaking wet clothes to get it to spin. As an example, I put 4 pairs of jeans and a few tshirts to wash, put it on the jeans cycle and then I had to out it on rinse and spin again. Then, had to remove a few items to get it to spin. The hose is not bent, so that's not the issue

NOISY

I purchased GE washer that says QUIET WASH on it. Far from it......
Other than the noise when the agitator is moving, I have no other issues. This washer is a little expensive and one would expect the appliance to be less noisy. I can't run the washer while asleep because it would keep me awake. Due to the noise I have given the washer 2 stars.

GE Washer Purchase

Mixed feelings at first. Ex. the tub is too deep, the unit is too tall, the unit is too computerized, concern about balance of load during spin. All this is nullified with improved knowledge and use of the product.
It is actually well built. It is quiet and has many flexibilities of cycles and modified cycles.
I see that it can receive software updates to even work better.
Hope I can be this satisfied with the product if you ask again in a year !
