Don’t do it

Horrible product. Does not balance load correctly. Wash cycles take forever unless you have a tiny load. Runs cycle and if it can’t balance, ends cycle with clothes SOAKING wet. I have to manually wring out clothes.

Balancing issues with sensoring is horrible

The sensoring for balancing is horrible. I have had this machine for a few years now and just getting tired of having to go in an move my clothes or towels around just to balance it. Its supposed to do this by itself, but it keeps going unbalanced .

We're happy to hear that you like your washer's appearance, but we do understand that you are having some issues with balancing. Your experience is important to us, and we'd like to offer some helpful information.
We recommend allowing the cycle to continue and finish. If the load is wet at the end of the cycle, even out the load and run a Drain & Spin cycle. If the problem persists, we recommend scheduling service with a certified GE Appliances technician that will be able to accurately diagnose and repair your appliance. You can do so by calling GE Appliance Service at 1-800-GECares (1-800-432-2737) or by clicking here: https://www.geappliances.com/ge/service-and-support/service.htm
If we can help in the future, please let us know. We are more than happy to.
All the best,
Kianna@GEA

Not impressed...

This machine replaced a 17 year old, no frills machine that was down to one working cycle and I wish I could have that old machine back. This machine caught my eye because of the good reviews and it's high capacity. I wash a lot of blankets and figured this would be a great machine to do so, but it has proven otherwise. Old machine could handle a set of sheets and two thin blankets in one load. This one, not so much. It does a very poor job at balancing the load and the spin cycle is ineffective as a result. I had to take the entire load out, which was sopping wet, and run the blankets through the drain/spin cycle individually to get it to work right. I wouldn't recommend this machine for this reason.

Bump and Spin Nuisence
on March 24, 2020

Although the washing machine offers many fine features, the weak and overly sensitive tub becomes off balance too easily forcing the tub to bang along the sides of the inside of a the washing machine like a wild banshee. Needs a better balancing system. Very irritating having to move wet clothes and towels around during the spin cycle to keep it from banging the sides,

Hello Scott0711956 - Thanks for the feedback. We're sorry for any inconvenience with your washer. If the machine is overloaded, the clothes may not be able to move freely and may be more likely to throw the basket off balance. Also, the more the legs are extended, the shakier the washer will be during operation. Please view this video at the following link: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=17445
We hope this helps. Thanks for your feedback.

Updated Review

This is an update to my previous review..after owning for two months I am disappointed in this machine. If you have lots of time to baby sit your laundry-aka make sure your washer doesn’t walk through the wall or rearrange sopping wet clothes multiple times, then yes you will love this machine. Despite carefully loading various loads(towels, sheets, blankets doesn’t seem to matter)I’m greeted by the horrible banging/clanking of the tub. Twice now I’ve had to unplug the machine because during the “balancing” cycle(the machine is trying to rebalance itself) it has smelled like something was burning. I also realize now that our clothes are not getting as clean as I had previously thought-especially the whites. Either way I am beyond disappointed with this washer and am already looking into replacing it.

Literally Worst Washer EVER Made!

I have had my washer less than 6 months. I wash 3 to 4 load of clothes per DAY. You CANNOT leave a load of laundry because of balancing issue. I have to over-load (I mean packed!!!) the washing machine otherwise it will not spin and continually fill up to balance load. That defeats the whole purpose of getting clothes clean. There is nothing on the top of the tub to hold it in place, not brackets nothing securing it in anyway. I have a large family and need a large capacity that filled up with water. Filling up with water is the only thing I can recommend about this washer....If you buy this washer EXPECT to hover over the machine because it WILL be unbalance

Always out of balance.

Everything with the washer works fine except for the spin cycle. Over 50% of the time the load is out of balance and the cycle ends up completing with the clothes sopping wet. I then have to rebalance the clothes myself and initiate the drain and spin cycle. Sometimes it works but other times the washer attempts to rebalance the clothes multiple times. Each time it rebalances it fills the tub with water which wastes a ton of water.
