Paper thin sheet metal drum

The drum sheared right off the diffuser spindle after about 3 years of fairly light use would not recommend quality not built to last.

Terrible GE design

Absolutely worst design ever. Has space between drum and body where EVERY possible draw string on pants or sweatshirts get caught. Rips out strings. Lint bypasses tray and goes down into a reservoir of sorts, required to purchase vacuum tube attachment to clean lint from said reservoir.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We'd like to help out with your clothes getting caught in the dryer. As clothes tumble, they make contact with several components around the door; however, clothes (and fabric softener sheets) should not get caught on the lint filter, sensor rods, or under the edge of the drum. As for the lint filter getting bypassed, we recommend checking to make sure that the screen is in place and cleaned before every load. We recommend getting one of our approved technicians out for diagnostics towards these issues. Worse dryer EVER!!

Do NOT ever buy this dryer. This is one of the worse dryers I have ever owned. The matching washing machine is no better. EVERY weekend, I am doing laundry and washing bed sheets and blankets. This dryer can not tumble a blanket without rolling it into a ball every 3 minutes. I have been trying to get the blanket dry for the last 2 hours so that I can continue with the rest of my laundry. I've had multiple service calls on this dryer before the warranty expired after the first year. Apparently GE has changed how they make things and a lot of service companies in my area will not service a new model GE appliance. I've had to enlist in a whole house warranty, just so I can keep the washer and dryer running.

Not too happy with it

So far it doesn't dry properly and the DrySense makes it harder to dry things, to the point that Timed Dry is the most reliable, but it still takes a lot to dry a small load
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Only after a few months the dryer light inside started flickering, then the whole dryer got where it would only turn on half the time. You never knew when it was going to work and when it wasn't. Then one day it had no heat, called on warranty with no return calls, then when I called again, they told me they had already came out and repaired, well that was not true. No one ever came out. Husband looked online and it appeared a lot of people had the same problem so he fixed with the help of someone online. Then it got where it was only working about a quarter of the time you would try to use it. Got tired of it (only used for about 3 years) and went and bought the cheapest dryer we could find..unfortunately it was another GE and the light inside stopped working a few weeks in.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
