Only used this dryer for about 7 months and there is no power to the dryer

It worked well enough for 2 years

After 2 years it stopped heating. Prior to that, it worked properly on "Jeans" and "Towels" in terms of actually getting things dry. Other settings, even manual sensor dry, left items slightly damp. After about a year the drum started squeaking but it still turns fine. But now it needs repair because it doesn't heat.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Won’t power on after 16 months

I was really excited about purchasing this model in 2021 after reading a lot of reviews/researching. But now that I look at recent reviews, 16 months after my purchase, it seems like many people are having the same problem as me. My dryer won’t power on anymore after 16 months of regular use. It is not an issue at the outlet or electrical box, but the dryer unit itself. It seems like there are other reviews posted that mention this same issue, or the dryer not heating. Why is a solution not covered by GE already, as this is clearly a defect if the same issue is being experienced by so many customers? The unit is lovely in appearance and features, but that isn’t enough for a 5 star review if it doesn’t turn on after less than a year and a half! I’m an architect and used to always recommend GE to my clients. Now I’m questioning if I should!

This GE dryer is great! So many features, and the stainless steel drum has held up really well even with clothing items with zippers and other items that could potentially scratch the drum.The ending sound it makes to let me know that the dry cycle is over reminds me of the movie: “Close Encounters of the 3rd Kind” which is very friendly.
