Good for trust accounts

Makes filing fairly easy, although the step-by-step still leads to some confusion. The foreign tax credit form seems to have some glitches in it; the rows/columns did not add to the correct sum and had to be overridden.
Passing all income to beneficiaries is troublesome. eFiling requires that a signed page be scanned and sent separately.

Did not handle QBI

I have been using TurboTax for many years and usually don't have problems. This year I used TurboTax Premier for my 1040 return and had no problems; it handled QBI perfectly. But TurboTax Business for my complex trust 1041 did not handle the QBI deduction. I was then surprised to find out that there was no Intuit support for the Business software.
What's great about it: As usual, easy input of all req'd info
What's not so great: Program not set up to handle the QBI

Hey, I've been using TurboTax for business and personal returns for MANY years. No complaints about the programs - although new tax issues can be a bit difficult to follow, that's mostly an IRS thing, not Intuit's. But my one gripe - finding out how much I paid for the program (for writing off the following year). What a complete PAIN that was to find! Got the date but that only told me the total I paid for BOTH the business and personal versions. Why is it SO difficult to find specifics in a previous year's order? Finally figured the business program was $159.99 + 8.25% TX State Tax and the personal program was $69.99 + tax. Why couldn't the site tell me that?

Overall went good but took too long figuring out items that should have been clearly presented. QBI was not clearly explained and lacked adequate instructions.
What's great about it: Eventually got there
What's not so great: Not clear on how previous years depr was being handled. No form 4562 not clearly explained

Need to have a Mac product

(1) No turbotax for Mac - I keep a Windows computer just for Turbotax Business. (2) can't download 1099's That sucks. (3) I am doing a small Trust for my Uncle's estate and I have to pay $150 for the software. I am not a business doing this. Simple Trusts should be a small, cheap product. It makes me dislike Turbotax and Intuit every year that I have to buy a separate expensive product to do this Trust and then it doesn't support downloads.

I've been using Turbo Tax for Forever!!

I've been using Turbo Tax since I think its inception! Never had a problem and it always was great... personal 1040s as well as rental business. If you are doing this all by yourself, the only thing I suggest (as I try to do!) is start early and go over and over and over your taxes for deductions you may not even know you were allowed. If you start in February and work on it just a few minutes a day, you'll be done before tax time! YAY!
What's great about it: Accurate!
What's not so great: Nothing I can think of...
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
