Easy Trust Return

In order to do my very small trust return I have to purchase the large TurboTax product for business. It does make the return very quick and easy but the product is really for business so it costs a lot. I sure wish a personal trust return could be done with a less expensive TurboTax product.
What's great about it: Makes doing a short trust return easy

Easy to Use and Accurate

I've used TT Business for several years to file a 1041 trust return. It's easy to use, accurate and dependable. However, it's expensive since I do not use any of the business part of the software, only the trust part. I wish I could use TT Home and Business for this.
What's great about it: Easy to use and comprehensive
What's not so great: Expensive if you only want to do a simple trust return

Bad experience - not the same the online products

This is my first time filing corporation returns. I've always had a good experience filing my personal returns with TurboTax. The TurboTax Business download software, which is required for corporation filings, is nothing like the online products for personal returns. There is no guidance at all. You have to read all the codes yourself and figure out whether you qualify for certain deductions and credits on your own without any assistance (questions) from TurboTax. Then, when you review the returns, you literally review the form in a quasi-pdf format and have to manually make any changes without any guidance. If there are any errors, the system will just keep going back to the highlighted field without telling you what the error is or what you should do to fix it.
What's great about it: nothing
What's not so great: no guidance on key questions. Review process is like preparing a paper copy of the form without any guidance.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

a few glitches

This review is for TurboTax Business. Most of the tax filing process was fine, but the error checking/review process definitely needs work. At one point, it claimed an error on the form and the form popped up. The highlighted section was the company name...clearly not an error. The state section had little to no explanation of "other forms" you may need to file. The overall product was still good, but inferior to TurboTax's programs for filing individual returns.
What's great about it: Most aspects were explained and straight forward.
What's not so great: There were multiple places that claimed there was an error or data needed, but did not explain or show the error.

My First LLC Filing FANTASTIC!

A fantastic 1st experience with TurboTax for LLC and Home Business! I wish I had used this much sooner. Probably saved several thousand in taxes and $2000 in preparation fees. If you have an LLC or Sole Proprietor business you have to file your taxes with TurboTax!
What's great about it: Loved the ability to call for help any time. Loved the EA helping me on the phone. Loved the simple flowing questions.
What's not so great: None
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Confusing

Why do I have to download turbotax business on my computer? Why can't I just do it online. Every year I start inputing my data on turbotax online and then I have to do it again on my downloaded software. confusing

Poor user interface & buggy software

After 2 painful years of using TurboTax, I am done and going back to my accountant. Even with the simplest return, the software is error prone, buggy, complicated, conflicting, and basically want you to go through and fill out every small detail. It would have been better to do my return by hand since even the simplest return cannot be done with TurboTax without encountering problems. The software is a ripoff.
What's great about it: Very little

30+ Years and going strong

I've been using TurboTax to do my personal taxes for more than 30 years. And since 2010, that's included taxes for my lawfirm, as well -- first as a sole proprietorship, and then, since 2016, as an S Corp.
I especially like the "audit review" at the end. It always gives me a good feeling to see that I'm down in the weeds with my numbers.
I only wish Intuit would come up with a plan to bundle Turbo Tax for my individual return with TT for business so I wouldn't have to go through two separate processes.
What's great about it: Step-by-Step "interview" is great; easy to use
What's not so great: The new, on-line format is a little less easy to navigate than the CD/Download versions from the past
