New Tax Laws not explained
on April 5, 2019
Posted by: LOSTINILLINOIS
I've used TurboTax for business forever and this year was quite challenging.
There was a serious lack of explanation and access to help on the new tax law for qualified service/trade businesses. I tried to connect live but was told my downloaded EXPENSIVE version of Turbo Tax for Business did not qualify. What???
What's great about it: Easy to add in data
What's not so great: Need more explaination

Everything is great, minus the online to desktop conversion for the online users. Hopefully there's an easier process next year. Thanks!
What's great about it: Quick and To the Point
What's not so great: Wished the Online to Desktop Integration worked a little smoother

1065 Business Return
on April 5, 2019

The business version needs to have an import function of 1099 information like the personal versions of TT.
What's great about it: Sub-section documentation of income and expenses
What's not so great: Not as easy to use as TT Premier for Personal
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Not as good as personal version
on April 5, 2019

Unlike the consumer version, Turbotax for business cannot import 1099 statements from financial institutions requiring extra work. Some fields don't work well. State return review error checks don't explain problems found or how to correct them.
What's great about it: Better than paper
What's not so great: Won't import, bugs, error checking

Made it simple

I used the download version, use the interview because I did an estate, which is a lot more complicated than using the home and business version , which I use every year. The form entry will confuse most people.
What's great about it: Did the interview, works great
What's not so great: I had to purchase the state copy in the download version

Turbo Tax Home Great! Turbo Tax Busines No Good!
on April 6, 2019

Very Happy with Turbo Tax Home and Business. Turbo Tax Business for Trusts is so difficult that I would think that the two were made by different companies. I have a Trust with very little going on. One source of income the same every year and one deduction. Maybe someone tried to make it as difficult as possible. This is third year I used it for trust. I have used TurboTax Home and business for 10 years and love it
What's great about it: No Pros for Turbo Tax Business
What's not so great: Not user friendly. No Flow
Pros: I bought or sold investments, I moved

Not what I expected from Turbo-tax
on April 6, 2019
Posted by: MyBusinessOwner
I use Turbo-tax Business for my Business taxes. This year, I was left with a lot of edits of forms being presented to me during the final review with no help on how to complete the corrections that were blank fields that needed to be filled on the final form. None of the typical "What's this?" help. VERY CONFUSING. Especially on Qualified Business Income 199A. A really big disappointment. Not what I expected from decades of experience with Turbo-Tax. Also I paid for a State Form but am told I cannot e-file and must print and mail it in?
What's great about it: Good guided preparation with helps.
What's not so great: LOTS of repair edits at the final review.
