Did OK with Minor Hiccup

Overall, TurboTax Business has been (& continues to) doing what I need for routine filings of Form1041 for a Trust for which I am Trustee. This year went smoothly until just before filing, I did a S/W update and suddenly TT reported errors. Most were easy to resolve, for example, for some reason, TT filled in the tax period covered with start 1/1/2018 and end 12/31/2018 and it reported that an error even though it filled in the blanks with those values, not me. More time consuming was the way it handled the calculations surrounding line 44 in the 1041's Schedule I. TT calculated a negative value for this field and after a lot of time on the help phone with 2 agents, then a tax expert, I was told to simply override the negative value with a zero. Then the problem went away. That negative valus shouldn't be in the field makes sense, but if that's the case, why not simply calculate it that way. The 1041 itself still has that same negative value in lines 38, 40 and 42, so keeping fingers crossed the IRS review process doesn't find this some kind of inconsistency. If so, it's a TT created one, for sure. Prayers accepted <grin>.
What's great about it: Process is pretty painless
What's not so great: last minute update surfaced error

TurboTax Business works great for my s-corp. The instructions are easy to follow and make sense even to a non-accountant like me!
My only complaint is that the instructions for the Oklahoma state tax return are cursory and the walkthrough is a bit confusing.
What's great about it: Straightforward and easy to use
What's not so great: Cursory state instructions and walkthrough

Turbotax's software has improved over the years, but every year there still seem to be a few glitches. For example, this year the balance sheet would not accept the entry and kept displaying errors unless you made the total an odd number by going back and adding one dollar on a prior screen...peculiar. Also, when you do the final check at the end it displays the actual tax forms and asks you to fill in assorted values without providing any guidance. If I could fill in the tax forms without guidance, what would I need Turbotax for? Other than these perennial frustrations, it's mostly good, and I do keep returning year after year.
What's great about it: I would never understand these forms w/o Turbotax
What's not so great: I still didn't understand some of the forms even w/ Turbotax

State not functional
on April 5, 2019

The CA state partnership return has no user screen for entering fed to state differences. I had to manually override all state partnership forms to get the correct answers. Thankfully, I'm a CPA and knew what the return should have said. I had given up on the Turbo Tax for Business 3 years ago for this reason, and gave it another chance hoping it had been corrected. No such luck.
What's great about it: Fed return works great
What's not so great: No functionality to automate Fed to state differences

Trust return - investments

Why can't you allow imports of the investment statements - 1099-int, 1099-Div and 1099-B from the financial institutions like Turbo Tax home? Manual entry is filled with the possibilities of mistakes.
What's great about it: Zero
What's not so great: That we could not import from the finanical institutions
Pros: I bought or sold investments
