Not worth it

This was a waste of time for partnerships especially if you have a foreign partner. The only thing the software filled out were company info which I could have done without paying 169.00. The rest of the 1065 questions were unanswered by the time I was done and I was prompted to "correct" them myself. By correct they mean you feel like 1065 like you would with pen and paper with zero assistance from TurboTax. The software looks and feels outdated. Like something they developed in 70s that would run on the floppy. Save yourself a headache.

First LLC filing
on December 12, 2018

Not very intuitive for first time LLC filers. Have used regular personal and schedule C Turbo Tax for years and that has always been great.
What's great about it: Organized and inexpensive
What's not so great: Not enough guidance
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Expected More

I have Intuits QuickBooks and got TurboTax so everything would be were it needed to be. Not so, Your program ask things that are already done in QuickBooks. Also, it tells me I need to mail forms in, but can't print them out because it can't convert to PDF. I paid 200.00 for your program and you can't even print out what forms I need to mail. Also you need to have more options on how a company is filing. Our members are classed as employees and I couldn't find out how to file without having to pay self-employment taxes too. I had to Google it and then play around with your options. It should be a standard question to ask because of the possibility of paying double tax.
What's great about it: Importing data, Highlighting Errors
What's not so great: Program not as advertised

Poor State Tax Download
on February 5, 2019

Credit card was charged. Program indicated NY State tax return download was complete, but that part didn't happen.
What's not so great: Intuit processed payment for NY State tax return and said download of State Tax Program was complete

Frustrated that I couldn't autopopulate last years return without that .turbotax file saved. Couldn't access that .turbotax file anywhere online or through your system.
What's great about it: Somewhat intuitive

199A unclear
on February 10, 2019
Posted by: Eutex
Inputs related to Section 199A are unclear/unexplained, especially the outcome (numbers). Not clear how S-Corp data (199A in particular) is going to reflect on 1040. No explanation anywhere. No-one to talk to (phone numbers are not provided). I am not a CPA and rely on TurboTax to guide me, which is not always the case.
What's great about it: Streamlined
What's not so great: Always something unexplained clearly
