CA Return: Our SOS number starts with 30, Turbo Tax would only except 19 or 20, was unable to e-file and needed to get a waiver from CA in order to mail return.
Federal Return: We have an ineligible partner (Trust) so checked not to opt out of Schedule B line 25, however Federal rejected e-filing because needed Schedule B-2which I didn't need to fill out
What's not so great: Unble to e-file CA or Fed partnership returns

Delayed in filing

Business taxes due March 15th. Started taxes February 9th. Alabama state was not ready. Said it would be ready February 22nd. Was not ready on February 22nd. So here it is March 9th a month later and I am finally finishing my taxes. So much for getting an early start.
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: State was not ready as promised

excellent but one fallback

2 years in a roll i see the same blogs and feedbacks of the compatibility issue of turbotax with quickbooks online. being both intuit companies its not something i can quite comprehend. hopefully next year at least they will try to fix the issue.
What's great about it: easy to understand
What's not so great: doesn't import from quickbooks online

TurboTax Business Crashing

Crashing when viewing or filing. We had to repeat our steps multiple times and redo our work as the system did not seem to save the last set of entries. Crashing seemed to go away when Quick Books was not opened at the same time. Interestingly, the file dialog box also changed. We have used TurboTax for years. Never had we had this number of issues with the software.
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: Crashing continuously!!

New York Subchapter S Program (Still) Needs Work

THE Subchapter S Form for New York was not available until a week before the 3/15/19 filing deadline. When it was finally available, it required far too much manual entry, just as it did last year, and required reference to the prior year's filed return, when that data should be easily migrated from the prior returns on the same computer. There is also too little explanation for the fields that needed to be manually entered. All in all, hard to see how the $49 cost of this add on is justified relative to using the NY State Tax website.
What's not so great: Form Not Available until Last Minute; too much manual entry required

Great, But...

What's great about it: Interview style format is great. Easiest way to get accurate tax return prepared.
What's not so great: Needs to be supported on Mac platforms. All other TurboTax programs are available in Mac-formats. Why not this one?

Won't install on alternate drive

It does what you would expect. And year over year you get the advantage of importing and saving some typing and analysis.
It will not install on the SD card on a Surface <boggle>. You can create a special map and it will install and then fail to update. The install program needs serious help for anything but their prescribed path.
What's great about it: Generally good
What's not so great: Won't install on alternate drive

Not altogether 'simple'

I had to override the "non-resident beneficiary" which it claimed I'd indicated... no such beneficiary and no way to fix that!!!
What's great about it: accepted hard copy attachments
What's not so great: Required erroneous entries
