Not thrilled with the amount of crashes
What's great about it: worked well when not crashing
What's not so great: wouldn't let me print critical forms, manually downloaded from IRS and uploaded

Federal taxes were easy, step by step instructions. NY State tax forms weren't ready to download until a week before they were due. I like to get my tasks done early and it was an inconvenience.
What's great about it: Easy step by step guide
What's not so great: State return wasn't ready

After I "finished" it found errors - on items it did not walk me through to begin with. Worst, it tells me DO NOT SKIP THIS STEP, I must print out some more forms and mail them in. When I click "Print Required Forms" it says an error stopped pdf from generating. Sounds very familiar like a problem I had last year! I might try another software next year. I'm getting tired of turbotax.
What's great about it: easy to use
What's not so great: Bugs, still not fixed from last year

Turbo Tax business was easy to understand, through and complete, the questions were straight forward, the explanations detailed and easy to understand, a pleasure to use the product and was much cheaper cost wise than using an accountant for a small business.
What's great about it: Easy to answer questions, through and complete, easy to understand
What's not so great: None really

Not much better than a spreadsheet

I use QB and so I would expect it to be able to import from QB and NOT have to ask me a bunch of questions. It DOES import from QB but I still have to manually enter in a bunch of stuff, so what's the point? Examples: shareholder distributions, retained earnings. Also for a few things it doesn't ask at all, then tells me I have an error because I didn't enter something (like Tentative something for new employee credit)
What's great about it: Similar to TT personal
What's not so great: Lots of manual stuff

TurboTax is easy to use, it saves time when they import data and make sure data matches, but it's frustrating that they wait till the last minute to update the State forms, so as a result I will not be able to file NY City business tax forms in this system
What's great about it: Easy to use, upload last year's data
What's not so great: Don't update State forms in time for filing

Pretty good

This was my first time filing an S-corp return, and I think it went pretty well. I've used TurboTax a lot in the past so the interface was fine, but there were a lot more uncertainties in this process than all the others I've done with TT in the past. I had to look up a lot of things online before I could make progress through several sections of the process.
What's great about it: Walkthrough
What's not so great: Not enough context

2018 partnership Ret
on March 9, 2019

there is no excuse to have to wait until 3/08 when a return is due by 3/15. Hoping this doesn't happen again next year.
What's great about it: preparation was easy
What's not so great: frustrated that NYS partnership was not ready until 3/08 and due by 3/15
