I cannot believe this program does not sync with QBO especially considering the big push from the company to switch to it. One would think that would be kind of a BIG DEAL.
State-taxes was a mess. I got stuck in numerous loops to the point where I gave up, will give up the 60 dollar upgrade it cost me and file directly with the state Comptroller.
What's great about it: Cheaper than a CPA
What's not so great: Doesn't sync with Quickbooks Online

SOME OF THE QUESTIONS ARE CONFUSING. IT APPEARS THAT YOU NEED TO LOOK UP THINGS THAT TURBO TAX DID NOT IMPORT OR TRANSFER BECAUSE THERE IS NOTHING ENTERED. IN PREVIOUS YEARS IF YOU MADE CHANGES IT WOULD MESS UP, THAT HAS BEEN CORRECTED IT IS NOW EASY TO MAKE A CHANGE WITHOUT ERRORS.
What's great about it: THOROUGH
What's not so great: NOT EVERYTHING IS UNDERSTANDABLE TO THE ORDINARY PERSON

The technology is fine, but would be better if online and available for access/edit online so when I move from work to home I can still work on it. I would have also liked to have access to a CPA to ask several simple questions that would have saved an additional 6-7 hours of work, not to mention the angst.
What's great about it: pulls in info, pretty intuitive
What's not so great: no professional help/live support like on the personal returns, not available except as a desktop download

Struggled for two days to get Software updater to work. Had to get into Windows and change operation level for TurboTax to Administrator. There is no excuse for that kind of compatibility complication.
What's great about it: Works easily and flawlessly
What's not so great: Cost excessive to do a simple Trust K-1

TurboTax is the king of tax software so I continue to be amazed year after year at how poor the TurboTax for business is. The instructions and explanations are terse and not helpful. So if you have any questions, forget getting answers here. This is so surprising because the version for personal use, including investments etc. is excellent.
The continued lack of a version for Apple computers surprises me. How hard can that be? I had to buy windows and dual boot my Mac for the sole purpose of running turbo tax for business once a year. Very aggravating.
Finally, charging $60 for the state version (which in MD is 2 pages) is highway robbery. I just print the forms from the state each year and fill it in by hand. Why turbo tax doesn't give a higher priority to businesses is beyond me.
What's great about it: Easy
What's not so great: Lack of detail and no Mac Version

Trust Return with Turbotax was a Nightmare
on March 8, 2019
Posted by: vcmartz
I have used TurboTax to file federal trust taxes for years. The first year was difficult and I had to override the automatic actions of TurboTax multiple times. This was the first year I also had to file a state trust return and the process was a nightmare. As I write this review, I still have not figured out how to get turbotax to properly fill out the AZ forms and submit them. I expect I will never use TurboTax again!
What's great about it: None - very user unfriendly
What's not so great: Did not transfer information correctly. Automatically exited before filing State return!
