Lacking in generic terms and instructions
on March 6, 2019
Posted by: Spklrman
The State forms were extremely late - they were available on the State's web site. The goal is to direct the needed return values from the Quick Books Pro and place them into the correct forms. Any additional information needed should have the definitions included. Any tax values needed should be differentiated - payroll, estimated payments, special taxes paid or interest paid.
What's great about it: types the forms and e-files
What's not so great: Dumps you into a State form with no instructions.

Disappointed

Difficult experience vs. Turbo Tax Online. Usability, visability, navigation were all poor.
What's not so great: Make it as usable as Turbo Tax Online
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

This was my first time using TurboTax Business. I found it fairly simple to use (for a first-timer). Wish I had been able to E-file though. But I guess this'll do for now....
What's great about it: Easy to understand, asked all the pertinent questions
What's not so great: Couldn't E-file

I have used Intuit products for almost 20 years and they never fail to produce exactly what I need. The step by step procedure with great explanations when you ask for help make this the product I often recommend to friends and family.
What's great about it: I really like the step by step format for the first run through and then using the forms individually when double checki

Good software but has some glitches
on March 6, 2019
Posted by: AufmanUSA
Good tool for self-filing, is easy to use and understand and has good interface and guides throughout. However, the software is a little slow in response, crashes sometime without reporting and misses some data entry that I had to fix manually. But would highly recommend!
What's great about it: Up to date tax regulations, Easy to use, Has error check, Good for DIY
What's not so great: Misses some data entry, Slow, Not for Mac

Product is okay. More complicated than the personal turbo tax.
What's great about it: asked questions like the personal turbo tax
What's not so great: in review, difficult to understand what needed fixing

i had an extremely simple return this year, but i really can't believe turbotax small business doesn't sync with quickbooks line. that is absolutely crazy and should be fixed immediately.
otherwise the turbotax service was good, but wow.
What's great about it: lots of "what's this" helpers
What's not so great: doesn't integrate with quickbooks online

TT could do better for Trust 1041
on March 7, 2019
Posted by: CXGX
This sw is somewhat expensive, considering the limitations and lack of clarity. I have been using TT for decades and the Trust 1041 product is not representative of TT quality and features.
What's great about it: Cheaper than an accountant, BUT
What's not so great: no downloads, no efiles, no state sw
Pros: I bought or sold investments
