For senior level tax preparers, it would be nice to be able to enter information directly on forms, and be able to navigate through the return more easily.

Clunky and Full of Stupid Errors

Once again, when it came time to file electronically, TurboTax threw errors, including highlighting our company name as a field that had not been completed correctly, EVEN THOUGH THE INFORMATION WAS IMPORTED FROM LAST YEAR'S FILE.
I hate this, and am going back to using a CPA. The money I saved is NOT worth it.

Good Software

TurboTax is pretty easy to use. I just had difficulty filing an 1120S Amended return. I followed the instructions, but it kept looping and wouldn't file although it said it could.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Turbo Tax Got it Done!

Turbo Tax does a good job of walking you through each step of preparing the return and providing more information when needed, either through their help function or links to specific IRS publications. I was a tax preparer with a CPA firm for 13 years so that probably helped me more than the average user to feel confident in what I was doing and the end results.

Unhappy customer

I doubt I will ever use Turbotax Business Desktop again. After spending hours inputting via the interview and had completed the Federal return, I was unable to open the tax file. The program kept giving me an error message that it could not open the file without any further explanation. I looked up the error code 102345 in TurboTax Help and the suggestion was to try opening the backup file. That was also to no avail as the program kept returning the same error code for that file as well! Given the short time remaining before the returns were due I had no choice to but to start a new return and enter all of the required information a second time. To prevent a repeat of this problem I kept TurboTax running continuously until the returns were electronically submitted for fear of being unable to access the tax file again should I shut down the program. The fact that TurboTax uses its help pages and community forum as the first level of user support for a problem of this magnitude is abysmal customer service. Given the potential financial exposure involved in tax reporting, TurboTax should support this product more robustly and thoroughly test the program before any release is made. Given the unnecessary duplication of effort caused by this software I believe I am justified in calling myself a most unsatisfied customer.

I liked the ability to view the forms directly at any time rather than only working through the Wizard.
