Now requires activation; state taxes are confusing

In order to install TurboTax Business 2019, there was a required "activation" procedure. This was new this year. This may be fine today, but what happens in a few years when our tax file needs to be opened again and we have to reinstall and the activation servers no longer work?
Add to this that the software itself is wildly confusing and the only way to complete the state tax submission (which in Wisconsin must be done electronically) is to manually enter a bunch of numbers directly into forms which have no instructions in the software. I had to instead go reading page after page of Wisconsin tax instructions, entering in numbers, and doing everything myself, including calculations. What am I paying for here, exactly?

Turbo Tax is the way to go

No improvements for many years

I've been using TurboTax Business since 2006 and, although it does the job, there have been very few enhancements to the functionality and the same problems have not been fixed. The biggest problem is it doesn't correctly import COGS/Purchases data from QuickBooks.

We started our business in 2013 and (sadly) shut it down in 2019 due to Red Tide in Florida.
With Turbo-Tax Business, every tax season was a white-knuckled ride to the inevitable next crash.
The best thing I can say about TurboTax Business is that it will make me think twice about ever starting another small business without hiring a CPA.

Minimal value add

Besides electronic filing, many of the questions or selections require special knowledge (such as claiming via various IRS codes). Supporting links on pages are sparse in places.
By the time I googled everything and read up on the IRS instructions, I could have just filled out the forms myself. User interface also has too many clicks. If a state does not have a filing due, why do I have to opt for the step, then be told it isn't required for Washington and then be given the option of filing fed only vs also state? And have to do this each time I make a correction to get back to doing the filing. E-filing final questions are also not explained in terms of officer compensation, etc. Come on Inuit. You can do better!
