On the one hand...

On the one hand, this software is great for Fed Trust and Estate filing. Quick, clear, easy to learn. But it lacks a lot of state forms, including my state (MT) which means I have to go out and start over with data entry to do state Trust and Estate Filing. That's an unexpected disappointment.
What's great about it: Quick, easy to work with for a first time trustee filing a 1041 and related.
What's not so great: Didn't have the state forms for Montana, which means I have to go out and start over for state forms.

Overall easy to use. Had some rough patches for the state fiduciary portion of the Iowa return as the inter vivos trust documents needed more definition.
What's great about it: Easy to Use
What's not so great: State returns need more polish

My state return required for the first the the California SOS file number (12 digit). When asked how to acquire this file number it sent me to an fully unhelpful website. The answer to this my question is actually to File and GP1 statement of partnership authority

I have been using Turbo Tax since 1992 and have always appreciated the fact that you are able to stay on top of all the changes in the tax law so I don't have to :)

2018 corp. tax

Ok software. Would not be able to fill out forms by hand. Software, same as last year, had to wait for state form release to progress through state. State had to be downloaded a couple of times before it would work. State seemed lacking with incomplete explanation of questions. Also had trouble with estimated taxes and electronic payments. Very frustrating....
What's great about it: tax software
What's not so great: incomplete, poor flow to completion

LLC K-1s always allocate rounding of #s to the same person. I always have to override and balance the partners amounts equally and make sure those changes are also changed on all the other forms. If I override the K-1 amounts, it will not add them and have the right totals, so I have to double check all figures. I also had to do this on the AR State K-1 forms. $60 was a lot to pay for me to have to correct all of the forms myself.
What's great about it: Helps get all forms together so I can save $ and do it myself.
What's not so great: I still have to know where to enter things and check for errors myself.
Pros: I bought or sold investments, My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
