The returns of the business and the personal ones are organized differently: one is on a CD the other ones on the website. The homepage of the website is really not easy to understand above all finding where the business tax returns are and how to get there required two calls to experts. The intial questions on the homepage are not complete, you should add for example : Own a business? In order to be redirected to the business tax returns, which should be online like the personal ones and not on a CD; more this CD is available only on PC and not on MAC. Do you know the number of businesses and people who only use MAC nowadays? The business tax returns and the personal ones should be linked the way that once finished the business the system automatically takes the personal information and the K1 directly. Now this discontinuity increases the risk of manual mistakes. It's overall good but a lot could be done for the final user who often has no tax knowledge.
What's great about it: guided step by step
What's not so great: not easy to get the full picture

Business version only so so
on March 14, 2019
Posted by: EMprise
I have used TurboTax for years to do my individual taxes, but this year I started a small business with a friend and tried the Business version for our partnership returns. It was a lot of money and not very user friendly for the first time user. Errors were pointed out by answers were hard to find.
What's great about it: Helped me get done by the deadline
What's not so great: Not as helpful as individual return software

Very Dissapointed Tax Program for Business
on March 14, 2019
Posted by: Taylormade0068
I ended up completing , redoing the entire program questionnaire 3 times because of all the glitches. One time it would not allow me to change my starting capital amount no mater how many different ways I attempted to take care of it. The latest issue was a need to print my return but it continually notified me of an error of converting my return to a PDF although it had already been saved as a PDF. Just felt like a very unprofessional program that didn't quite make it through all of the necessary quality control testing scenarios.
What's great about it: Easy to install and update
What's not so great: Too many glitches

Terrible 2018 edition
on March 15, 2019
Posted by: TERRIBLE2018
This had to be the worst experience i've ever had with turbotax. When I tried to transfer my 2017 returns they wouldn't transfer BASIC business information. I'm using the same computer. I confirmed with the 2017 edition that 2 partners at 50% each were listed. But the 2018 edition wouldn't list both partners. So i tried to add a partner and it insisted the partnership changed in 2018. NO MATTER WHAT I DID IT DIDNT WORK. I ultimately had to start over by not transferring 2017 info over, which of course made things harder. I had to delete turbotax 2018 from my computer 3 times after transferring kept not working. Fix this or next year will be my last year ever.
What's great about it: None
What's not so great: Wouldn't correctly transfer my 2017 returns to 2018. Finally had to file without transferring, SO FRUSTRATING!!!

Reject R0000-922-01
on March 15, 2019
Posted by: HH321Robert
Up until this non correctable reject, within the software, everything was great. With this error code I have to call the IRS to correct a calculation within Turbotax, print 45 documents, and mail them to the IRS. Not happy at all!
What's great about it: Great all around until the end.
What's not so great: One issue spoiled an entire process.

very poor coordination of products
on March 15, 2019
Posted by: TMTSVCS
This company advertises it's products to sync with one another and provide seamless and easy processes. However, the products do not sync together, manual entries had to be made UNLESS you re-purchase the products on a different platform. The manual tax entry walk through was not easily understood and very confusing ...it was if you were expected to be a tax accountant!!
What's great about it: electronic
What's not so great: confusing, company products do not sync
Pros: I bought or sold investments, My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Issue with TurboTax Business 2018
on March 24, 2019
Posted by: 415chars
In the "File" tab > "File a Return" sub-tab > "Print and Mail These Forms to the Government" screen, there is a terrible, nebulous issue.
This screen is reached immediately after e-filing the federal return.
The screen says, "Even though you e-filed, *don't skip this paperwork*. These are items required by the government to complete your return. We'll only print the forms you need."
Then there is a button: "Print Required Forms".
Here comes the issue: when you click the button, you receive an error message that says, "Your forms can not be printed. Error in converting your forms to PDF format."
What a terrible message to get when you're trying to print out the forms that are REQUIRED to be filed. What's especially awful is that TurboTax doesn't tell you which forms it was attempting to print out. So not only can you not print the forms that you are required to mail, but you don't even know *which* forms you're required to mail.
I ran into this exact issue last year in TurboTax Business 2017 and was hoping it would be fixed this year. Nope.
To anyone wondering how to get around this issue: I did some research in the Intuit forums and found that the error message referenced above is basically synonymous with, "Congrats on e-filing! There actually aren't any forms that you're required to print and mail, so go on your merry way and ignore this screen altogether." There is no issue with your forms nor your computer, despite the implications made by the error message.
