It's getting better all the time.

This is the 2nd year I've used this downloaded app, and it continues to improve each year. I've found it to be the better self-preparing apps out there, but it's not perfect. In general, it does a good job of explaining, but there are two areas I would like to see improved. 1. Asking me if I want to review before starting the 'filing' process. I can go to forms and find it myself, but it would be nice to have it appear on the screen with a click. This helps me know at this point in time, it is good to proceed... before proceeding. 2. When errors are found, and I had 3 that were check box related, the explanation was almost non-existent I had to research online to understand how to complete so the error would be resolved. I plan to order again next year, so it would be great to continue seeing improvements.

Decent Software

Pros:
~Software has a "whats this" button next to almost everything. Very useful for first time filers and self-filing
~Software runs on desktop and is easy to print all the forms you need, and the ones you may not
~very, very easy to create documents
~every step is walked through on the return, it dosent feel overwhelming

Cons:
~Expensive, compared to other options
~DOES NOT include personal returns for the business owner or partners, you have to pay additional for this on turbo tax online
~User interface could use serious updates, it feels stale
~No training when you use it, had to look up a ton of things online
~Form lines are not explained, not that it's expected, but it's overwhelming when you're trying to figure out if form 1065 schedule k-1 line L applies to you or not, based on the document language. It would be nice to have the "whats this" type help on the physical documents as not everything is in "step by step"
~Only good for one year
~Pictures of the 'CPAs' are pretty pointless

Wasted my time

Upon completion the software prevented me from filing and kept sending me back for another review without resolution to the problem it detected. I got hung up at inserting a file CA corporate number that I don't have
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

It's fairly easy to use, but finding a typo is not as easy as it could be when you have multiple documents entered. Would be great if you would provide the capability to display each one individually after they're entered to find any typos in the amounts.

TurboTax Business 2019 is inconvenient and buggy

I am a longtime user of TurboTax for personal tax returns (all the way back to the 20th century "MacInTax" days) and am happy with it. As a trustee, I have been using TurboTax Business for a few years; it has never been as easy to use as the personal TurboTax products (I used TurboTax Premier for my 2019 1040) because it does not allow 1099 forms to be imported, and the 2019 version had a bug in its update functionality that cost me at least a couple of hours. The automatic update function didn't work, and after much frustration and several restarts I eventually found an update that could be downloaded manually from the Intuit website.
Pros: I bought or sold investments
