Error checking logic for tax year confusing

I got stuck in the error checking logic for the date because we were filing a first return and it should have been a short year but the short year option wasn't coming up in the step by steps but kept flagging as an error because my initial s-selection date was after the beginning of the year. Went through that loop over 10 times until I finally found the short year option on the forms.

TurboTax makes filling taxes for our LLC very easy. The 2019 tax filing was easier than in the past for e-filing.

I usually file my small business with an accountant and pay hundreds of dollars...I decided to try it myself with TurboTax Corporate and downloaded the state from Intuit directly. It reviewed my errors and helped me complete my taxes myself saving me hundreds of dollars.

Turbo Tax Business definitely needs some work

Turbo Tax needs to invest a little more time and money in to the TurboTax Business so that it is on the same level as their base products. Especially since they are charging a lot more for the business version. The product is disconnected in many ways and doesn't do nearly what the base product does. For example, in the review/error check it says the worksheet doesn't match the value on the Form 1041 and had me manually enter it. Why didn't it populate it automatically? They didn't change the dates on the estimated tax forms to 7/15/2020 due to the Covid-19 extensions like the base product. On the PA state they did change the first, but not the 2nd month payment which is still listed as 6/15/2020. So you pay the 2nd estimated payment before the 1st? This is just sloppy and shows there was not much time and review spend on the TurboTax Business products. This worries me a bit that the product is reporting other things incorrectly to the IRS and state.
Since the business product cost much more it seems odd that they didn't spend that money on the product. Probably because they don't sell the volume in this product (accountants use other products maybe), but still would expect more when I spend so much more for it. It doesn't include the a state version and they hit you up for an additional almost $60 for each state. The file for the state (PA) it downloaded was very small and there is a reason for that. There is not much to it. The review on the state doesn't really check anything. It asks you if you want to add any credits for example and then simply says to add the appropriate forms. I have to do several so the state addition did save some time from manually entering data on the forms, but I would expect more for the money. Their base products for regular taxes are pretty good, but the Business version definitely disappoints. .

I have used TurboTax for years. It is an extraordinary product and I enjoy using it and learning more and more about proper tax filing every year. The live support makes the greatest difference, plus the comfort of Audit Protection. I love these features the most!
