Somewhat helpful

Failed automatic update on several occasions, which means I spent an extra hour a couple of different times just trying to get the program working on my very generic Windows PC. Once it was up and running with the latest updates, it worked reasonably well. State return was not available for my state, so I had to do that manually -- and that one turned out to be much harder than the federal filing.

Hard to follow and understand.

The information entry forms are confusing and the instructions are often ambiguous, as though written by IRS people. I have I high regard for their support people, but wish the documentation was more in laymen terms.

Great product

I am a CPA, but I work in private industry and do not prepare tax returns for clients. I DO, however, prepare my own tax return and I use Turbotax because it is a great product.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

I like TurboTax but the file structure with Intuit

Turbo Tax is great as is QuickBooks, but every file is mixed together between my personal and business. I try to keep things separate but your system always mixes them all together. It is very frustrating.

Turbo Tax is quick and easy to use

Turbo Tax is easy to use and the tech support is fantastic. I bought a CD and the files were corrupted and then got me a downloaded version that work like a charm. The tech support was wondering and she walked me through the entire process until it was corrected.
