Easy to use, saved me a lot of money!

My tax preparer/CPA took $1100 to do the taxes last year. With TurboTax I did them myself in about four hours and saved a boatload of money!

Could not have done it without you

I thought I'd try a different program to keep my business files separate from my personal files, but quickly learned how much more superior the Turbo Tax products were. It was not easy, but I sure could not have done it without Turbo Tax and I am so much more confident in the final results and accuracy. Whew! Thank you.

Has errors that I need to fix with workaroundsnu

Income reported on a 1099 for Box D has a entry in TurboTax that allows for an adjustment and requests that the user enter a "gain or (loss)". I needed to enter a loss for a marker discount loss but could NOT enter a negative number or a number in parenthesis. When I tried a negative number, there was a comment that the amount had to be greater than 0.00 and when I tried the parenthesis, there was a comment to "enter a number". After about 1.5 or 2 hours trying to fix the issue directly onto Schedule D or on Form 8949, I gave up and had to INCORRECTLY adjust the entry to show cost basis and proceeds the same amount in order to show that there was no loss. This is not the only error I encountered but it was the most frustrating and the most problematic since my data and the 1099 do not agree.

Loyal Turbo Tax User

I don't know how many years I've been using Turbo Tax for our personal taxes - maybe 20 now. When my husband's father passed away about five years ago we at first used an expensive accountant. About three years ago I transitioned to doing our trust tax returns to, thanks to TurboTax. TurboTax makes doing taxes "doable" for the every day person. I can't recommend TurboTax enough.
