I love-ish Turbo Tax

It's great. Let's not be picky pants. This time it was a little challenging. Kept getting weird errors. Corrected, Recorrected. Deleted pages (unnecessary). Could not figure out where the form was being fed from. Finally dummied dates in to get it to work. It is absolutely user error. My bad but crazy making just the same.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

State Software very limited in functionality

Federal Return software is pretty good. State software is much less robust and required me to go offline to learn what I needed to know to complete the form manually. Except for the limited transfer of items from Federal to State, it wasn't much better than paper.

So So - Disapointed

I have been using TurboTax Deluxe and Turbo Tax Business for a Trust for years and have been very pleased but the last 2 years and I have been displeased. Deluxe was fine but Business does not download Financial info anymore from Institutions and than would not despite all tries.Very easy trust but so difficult.

I think Intuit needs to sharpen their pencil and redesign its business software. Unlike your other products, Tax Form 1041 was not intuitive to use. Plus no state return software available? Had I known that from the beginning I would not have purchased this product.

Pretty good, but could be better

The place I get hung up every year is reconciling the income statement, retained earnings, and balance sheet. TurboTax tells me when the totals don't match, but it doesn't tell me how far off I am. Is it off by $0.01 or thousands of dollars? There are other places in the Step-by-Step process where better explanations could be provided. It feels like nothing has been improved in that area in several years.
