I was really disappointed this year.

I struggled through the estate 1041. Having used TT for many many years, this was the first time that I could not figure out how to fill in the data, nor could I find any help in the help department. It took me weeks (not working on it constantly) and two visits with a CPA to finally figure out the formula. I had to start over several times, and one time I somehow had duplicated the sale of the home which was the main thing in the inheritance. And when I discovered that TT would not let me delete my mistake. But thankfully I was able to complete it today. Give us some more help next year!

Turbo tax did great even without fully understanding the tax changes. However, it does seem to have trouble when a period is not fiscal calendar year. In my case, the period is June 26, 2017 to June 24, 2018 which is being done on Turbo Tax 2018. Before I went on to use short period instead, the fiscal year that was set is June 2017 to June 2018 but depreciation is not calculating right

What would I do without Turbotax

Easy to use and gets the job done. More advance tax knowledge would require specialized expertise. That is why I use turbotax. Majority of individuals own a home and have a w2. This is the best way to get the data to the IRS/state fast.

Easy with QuickBooks to TurboTax

There some issues with a 1031 exchange, and had to manually work on the forms.
