Form 1065

Had to start from scratch since it never found last years file, so start from ground zero and entry last year data. e-file bombed twice even after it was checked and Form8453PE attached correctly, start over, new error message. Start Fed from beginning what a (keeping it clean).
I have used TurboTax 1065 software for years and this is the worst release I have used. Could not print received page either. Why is nickname that important, my, my. I have now tried four nicknames, who give a c. Now five, give me a nickname you like...

What's great about it: none

1st time using Business Tax. Missing context sensitive help / questions. Checking specific boxes has implications on errors and required information.

Software is terrible

The software is so slow. It also said i couldn't file me taxes because it wasn't tax season, and it wouldn't allow me to print additional forms needed to file my federal return.

State Business Return - not happy

I paid $50 to purchase a Turbo tax verson of the CT Pass Through entity return which is available from CT government for free (together with excellent instructions). Turbotax provided NO instructions. I was simply given the forms to fill out on my own with no guidance at all. Turbo tax correctly dumped Federal info into the CT forms, but I filled in the rest based on printing out instructions from the CT Goverment Tax site. Some of the instructions from Turbo Tax about filing this return were incorrect. For example, CT instructs us NOT to send any payment with a mailed return. Turbo tax says to send a check.
I want my money back.
What's great about it: automatic calculations; Federal 1065 was excellent
What's not so great: no instructions for completed State Return

1st timer 1120 Done

This was my 1st time filing 1120 Return through TurboTax. Typically my CPA does it but this year I wanted to save the $1500 and try myself. Turbotax was so easy and they walked me through every step. I have every confidence my 1120 Return was done right. I like the double checks Turbotax does. All the explanations are easy to understand and very helpful.
What's great about it: Step by step instructions and where to find the information
What's not so great: Confused on purchase, thought I bought online version but wasn't

Initial run on S Corp return

Have had my S Corp returns completed by professionals previously but since I have a somewhat dated accounting education, I thought this year I would do it using TurboTax. I have been using TurboTax to file my personal returns for years and find it a blessing with how they bring information forward year to year without having to re-enter it. Was very pleased and surprised at the ease of completing the S Corp return and e-filing it. Would not hesitate to recommend Intuit and their family of products.
What's great about it: Exporting data from Quickbooks Pro, easy to use, populated items for you

Georgia 600S fiasco

Don't know who is to blame but went round and round. When I tried to file electronically I got error message that I could not file electronically. When I tried to print instead I got the message that I had to efile. Catch 22. The Answer Xchange came up with the fix of over riding a box that said "copy 1". I was able to print and mail.
What's great about it: Very straight foreward
What's not so great: Could not file GA electronically

Saved Me!

I am now living in a foreign country and it was going to be a big problem preparing and sending the K-1's on a partnership I had closed down before moving. Turbo Tax made it so easy. I had used it the year before and so everything rolled into this tax year and I could even pay through a debit to my checking account. All the problems were solved!!!
What's great about it: filed while traveling, saved me a huge problem
