Taxes made easy!

Turbo Tax is so easy to use. This was the first year I had to file as an LLC Partnership and they walked me through offering a thorough explanation of each step. I've used Turbo Tax for the past 5 years and will continue to do so!

Lacking in some areas, but OK

For some strange reason data did not transfer over from previous Turbo Tax years. Specifically the S-Corp Form 1120S Five year Tax history only would list 2019 Tax year, not the previous 4 years. I could not find any way, even on the help area, of how to re-enter that data. I do understand that it is almost impossible to cover every situation but someone posted the same issue in 2018 and it was never fixed. Not a new problem.

Fed 101 Works Fine, NYS, a Bit Painful

One ding on the Federal 1041 support... why can 1099s be downloaded from financial institutions directly, as is done in the Home & Business product? 1099-Bs are very painful to manually load. I wish the NYS return worked as well as the Federal 1041. A number of forms, such as the IT-182 required for Passive Activity Loss isn't supported. A number of the other forms require manual data entry, even thought the source data is already resident in the Federal return. TurboTax, you can do better!

Not as good of experience as before

I have used TurboTax for many years and was quite disappointed this year. I used the guided input as I always do and when it came time to e-file, got a message that my numbers were out of balance. I went back and looked at the forms and I have no idea where the numbers came from. Was not even close. I started over and entered the information manually with no problems.

I'm not an accountant. Some of the language used is confusing. Define everything! Please consider this in future versions of Turbo Tax.

Cumbersome, but I guess there is no better way

I am disappointed that TurboTax Business is not available as an online product, and cannot import accounting data from QuickBooks online. I also found the filing process confusing, especially for California state taxes, since after the "interview" process I was asked to fill in many seemingly random boxes and yes/no choices that were not explained clearly.
