I love how turbo tax takes you through the return step by step and watches for errors. The only improvement I wish they would fix is the transfer of Quick Books "Online" to the Taxes.

It does pretty much what you need it to do, however, there some work involved. For example, the way you set up charts of accounts and thus categories won't transfer exactly so you must adjust. The balance sheet and retained earnings calculations needs to work. Maybe the answer and response when there's a discrepancy is, file an amended return for last year to correct an error in this year balance sheet; but, I felt I could use more help there.

Easy to navigate and use

I had an easy time navigating the software. The help feature explained question that I had when I didn't understand some questions. I am a fairly new small business owner that likes to do my own taxes, turbotax made it an easy experience for me.

More reliable than ever

Turbo Tax was flexible and the built in "Explain this" handled most questions, and gave good guidance. There was less "errors found" where it always seemd that TT should have handled in interview. Seems constant improvement evident.

Not as easy as last year

I had problems with not being able to load shareholder information from 2018. Took 3 weeks (and three attempts at starting Fed return over) to finally get that to work. Some of the entries on the Fed Business return were not explained well. I was not able to download NJ State SCorp program until 3/13/20 (2 days before filing date). It put my state and occupancy taxes in wrong place so that was a problem to locate and held up filing. Held up filing for a $80 error.

If you are a self-starter this is a great tool

Be prepared to scour the internet for answers to most of the questions presented in this filing software. If you have a CPA as a friend or quick reference, lucky for you. Otherwise, without any general understanding of accounting principles, you are out of luck. Before you begin MAKE SURE YOUR BOOKS ARE BALANCED. Will save tons of time and effort because this tax software does NOT tell you where you are not balanced or why or how to correct it. As far as specific tax situations that apply to you, yep...you will need to research like you're studying for the CPA exam. I would not recommend for anyone who is worried about being audited. This is merely a plug n play product. Very little guidance unlike their other tax products. You are on your own with TurboTax BUSINESS.

Should be 5 stars, but...

I've been using TurboTax for at least 20 years for my corporation and personal taxes. It is an awesome product, but has one really annoying problem. When using step by step, let's say for income, you fill in one section, go back to the next income section and it always takes you back to the beginning of the income section. This forces you to scroll down to get to the next section. It should take you back to where you left off.
