Desktop flow nice but web horrible

It was a real disaster going back and forth between web and desktop. Filling the w-2, schedule-k1, etc. forms was a real headace because you couldn't just log into the website https://quickemployerforms.intuit.com/signin.htm and then the forms would appear. You would nee to log into from the desktop software then get redirected and if you got lucky your forms would appear. Not sure why this was so complicated.
I've used TT for several years now and this part has consistently gotten worse over the years and alone would make me want to switch away from TT.

Still the best, but could be better

One glaring issue is the lack of support for Mac. I had to run Windows to use the program, which is ok. However, I was not able to import from QuickBooks for Mac. The right solution to this is to make a TurboTax Business for Mac, or to enable import. This has been missing for years.

Not user friendly for mineral royalties...

The step-by-step process never prompted me to enter distributions made to LLC members. I had to search and find the place in the program where they needed to be entered. Also, though entering mineral royalty income was easy, the step-by-step process never asked about mineral expenses! I finally figured out that I had to go to the whole form (again without prompting) to enter them manually in the form. TurboTax should address these points, particularly the former, which applies to everyone with an LLC or partnership!

Federal filing was easy; LA state not so much

The federal filing part was quite simple. The Louisiana state filing not so much. The same thing happened last year. (I actually had more issues last year and had to file an extension). The software is not state user friendly at all. This is my second year using this software and the second time I've had issues. I will find another software company to use next year. Having to print and mail my return is ridiculous and last year LA state sent the paperwork back saying it was on the incorrect state forms. I will have to double check the printed forms this year to make sure they match up to my state's forms.
